Gemini...help?

just posted a video...http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/2652# it's really frustrating, been working on this move for the last couple of days...my hip just wont get in the right position, so my arm pit hold doesnt feel secure so I'm too scared to let go. I'm trying to extend my leg in order to get it but it doesnt seem to be working. And the most frustrating thing is I actually got it a few minutes ago for a few seconds..but didnt video it, so i cant compare it and see what I did differently! Pole experts! 😁 What am I doing wrong? heh.

You look like you have the right idea! Bend that top leg as much as you can, think of it as you're trying to point your toe to the floor. Maybe try arching your back just a bit more to help get a better grip with your side and armpit (Your back curls slightly when you're still hanging on), sliding your hands a bit further down the pole will help you do that. And go slow - let go with the outside arm only before you try to let go with both hands. And this may sound kinda silly, but maybe try it with a bit less clothing on, too (I wouldn't recommend recording yourself in those instances, though 😜). More skin equals more grip, and once you have it down pat you won't have to be so concerned about the clothes you're wearing. You also stick better when your pole is warm. Keep practicing and it eventually becomes second nature 🙂

It looks like your left hip isn;t touching the pole. I use that part of my body to help hold me on. Push your hip into the pole. The way I got it- I pulled that leg towards my face so the pole would be held in my thigh. That way you can let go with your hands, When your grip feels better, swing that leg around behind you- while pushing teh hip into the pole. I'll try to post a video. 🙂

Hey hun, I've just got this move last week so hopefully I will be able to help! In your vid the leg off the pole needs extending and really pushing down towards the ground, and the leg on the pole needs to have a really tight grip on it (our instructor demonstrated this on us before we learnt it and it's meant to hurt!!) bend it like you've never bent it before! Lol With the arms just bring them a bit lower down and try holding with just your inside hand on the pole first, and having some belly out will really help to get the grip near your hip - thrust it into the pole as it is this position that helps you hold the pose. I struggled with this at the beginning but once I'd had a few goes and put all of the above together I just did it! I was so excited I had to facebook message my instructor to tell her lol. Keep trying hun and you'll be doing it before you know it! Now I've just got to master it with no belly out (hate getting my belly out at class lol). -x-x-
