Frustrated with the Marely...

I don't know what I am doing wrong but I been wanting to get that damn Marely. I watch the tutorial that Exdiva69 (Shelly) did for it on youtube but when I get my leg hooked I can't seem to figure out how to arch my back and grab my foot. I have a pretty bendy back now, any tips? Also, anyone have any advice on how get myself ready for the Ariel Shoulder Mount. I can do the shoulder mount fine and i can hold it for a while. If anyone has seen my videos, everyone says how strong I look. I usually do a side climb up the pole and then get myself where I can get my shoulder and arms ready for it and than Iet go and I get half way up there... grr its so frustrating lol

I had a tough time with the marley too for a while.. but it all depends how i go into it.... If i do a side climb into it like she does in her tutorial.. it hurts like hell to bend back .. but if i go into it from my handspring/aysha or something, it doesn't hurt as much... once i hook that leg....i keep holding the pole with my other hand for balance, reach back grab the ankle of the leg thats hooked and push your hips forward as you let go of the hand thats holding the pole. It will hurt like hell lol, but the more you do it, gets little easier. Give it a shot going into it from either a handspring/aysha or gemini and think to push your hips forward, hope it helps. 🦌

Yeah, this one kills me. I've gotten it before, once. It took about five minutes of grunting and I haven't gotten it since. I tried Sarah Crutel's way of getting into it from flatline scorpio, and while a reach... it was not nearly as painful as when I tried it from like what I call a Goddess spin.... hooking my inside leg and just trying to pop my outside leg up and then going into it. Flat line scorpio you're already hooked. The way I was trying, you kinda drop into it. I pulled my calf muscle for two weeks. My back is very bendy, too. Crescent moon is very easy for me. So, I'm surprised at how much trouble this one is giving me. Definitely think the way to do it is from flatline scorpio, but yeah... it's hard. As for aerial shoulder mount, I find its easiest from half-mast... you do a side climb, let your body spin backwards a little into something resembling figurehead, so now one leg is kinda tucked, one leg is down with your foot holding on, and shoulder is against the pole... rearrange grip and repeat.

I found this move pretty easy,i did it about 2 weeks ago and my calf muscle of the top leg still really hurts right in the muscle,its really hurts to kneel and sit back on my feet,has any1 els had this? it must of bruised my muscle or something 🙁 thanks Maddie x

I find the best way is to do a scorpio (outside leg hang) and then a princess/cupid. So your top hand and foot are already grabbing eachother like in the Marley. Then put your free hand on the pole below your hips, and let your bottom leg (whose foot is touching the pole) go behind the pole. Now you can make yourself comfy (well as comfy as you can be haha) while still supporting yourself with that bottom arm. Then slide the bottom arm down, down, down and arch your back. When you're totally ready (basically in Marley now, except for one hand), gently let go of the bottom hand (bend the elbow first to ease pressure onto your knee gradually) and last but not least - grab your other foot. 🙂
