Foot-Nazi's Are No Fun

Ever try a move (or want to try a move) and have the piss taken out of it because of flexed feet. Like "Omg, I can't believe you would damn my precious eyes w/ your hideous feet even though you figured out that awesome move on the first try!" Umm, yeah. Guess no move is worth even trying unless I'm a flippin' Ballerina Supreme, huh? And another thing, most foot Nazi's are total hypocrites too. One particularly bad one I know actually went to a club and heckled strippers over it. Then I see her on National TV and she didn't point her toes ONCE...and her feet were filthy! Anyway, I'm just saying don't be a foot-Nazi...they suck. We all like pointed toes and nice lines, but we don't have to sacrifice safety and sanity trying to have them all the time. If it ain't fun, it's DONE.

I gotta say Serzi... I am a foot-nazi and darn proud of it ;) LOL... I think the biggest thing for instructing pole is getting people to practice with pointed toes in the beginning so eventually they wont even think about it anymore when they pole. I agree that getting on someone for not pointing their toes especially when its not instilled in the beginning is a little unfair. I know I can't walk and chew gum at the same time without a little concentration involved. 😉

Well, if you're not a total bitch about it then you're not an actual foot-Nazi. It's when someone does it in a sneering way or when everyone's like "Wow, congrats on getting that move finally!" and then you get that one "...too bad her feet are flexed...". That's just plain mean. Obviously the chick would rather have pointed toes, but wanted to share w/ everyone that exciting moment the move first clicked for her. The toes don't discredit the moment and how great it truly is. It's extremely demotivational to scrutinize over feet in that situation and anyone who is like that can stay the Hell away from me.

I think toe pointing should be worked on once you have the move and feel safe executing it. To me toe pointing is the cherry on top, it finishes the move, but I wouldn't ever take the piss out of someone for not pointing their toes! Especially not the first time they get a move! As long as you're happy with the move and aren't planning on competing then I don't really see the problem 🙂.

LOL I'm definitely not a bitch about toe pointing. All that sneering and heckling for lack of toe-point is just plain old being a BITCH if you ask me 😲 Especially when they are just getting a move down. Pole fitness is about building people up... not tearing them down.

Very funny to see this post today, as for my facebook status yesterday, i admitted to being having a foot fetish / being a toe nazi. i repeat it here : "A'iite... I'll admit it. I have a foot fetish / I am a toe Nazi. I don't care how strong, flexible, fluid a person is, if they don't point they feet I can't keep watching :-/" please don't hate me ?

I don't think that toe pointing is all it's cracked up to be. I wouldn't know a "line" if it hit me in the face six times over. But.... I get really upset when girls enter competitions and they have "barbie feet". And then they win them. Like, I recently watched a competition where the second place winner won over a much more polished routine. She had the worst case of barbie feet I had ever seen. Not to mention her whole kit of moves was unpolished, she seemed like she was going to fall off the pole any second...if you're going to eat shit, atleast look graceful when you do it. Like one of the times I saw Jenyne fall, she was so into it and then she just kinda..oopsie'd. And she got back up there and brushed it off. But you would have been expecting that with poor form. Granted, Jenyne is an icon--but that just proves my point. When learning a move or just freestyling, I don't think it matters or needs to be heckled. But if it's a performance piece and you are there to be JUDGED, yeah, you better expect flack for it.

@ JayJay, having a personal preference and choosing not to watch is one thing, but when a person chooses to watch and then shits all over the place about it is another. And I agree w/ the idea of competitions but, still, some people take it beyond acceptable levels of scrutiny. You can't help but feel like there's more hatred behind it than just about toes, you know?

My trainer is a Nazi lmao!!! But she will always give you kudos on the move the grace hell even the effort if you fail... then she will remind you to point your toes lol She never demeans our efforts but will always enforce the importance of pointed toe. Hell, sometimes all we get is the pointed toe and she notices and compliments.

Foot-Nazi's don't compliment or care about anything but feet in my experience. If you slip up once you're dead to them. They are relentless, self-serving morons and usually a hypocrite. Professionals, on the other hand, can see the forest for the trees even if they don't like the shape of every leaf on the branches.

Worse than a foot-nazi is a grammar-nazi, and you have no idea how difficult it is for me not to let that side of myself out. Sometimes it causes me physical pain. However, I find that any kind of nazi is helpful in a way- they're letting you know that you can improve! The only trick is that THEY, obviously, can also improve. If you're finding them impolite, or rude, or straight-up insulting, call them on it. Don't be mean (you don't want to be a nazi yourself!) but tell them "I understand you're getting distracted by my feet, and I'm working on improving my toe-point! But, please be aware that there are nicer, more encouraging ways to tell me, and those ways will actually gain better results." If they flip out at you, then it's THEIR problem!

Yup. I have the grammar-twitch too when I see it. (particularly for improper use of "there", "their", and "they're". Or w/ "here" and "hear".) Still, I know I'm not exactly perfect myself and because I can still understand what they're trying to say I refrain from insulting or correcting them. My teeth, however, can't stop grinding when I see those errors. Just a reflex from being an English teacher's pet for too long. Nazi's, by my definition, are beyond perfectionist. They are evil, soul-sucking, elitist sociopaths who lack any form of compassion for humanity. All true Nazi's are bad. They'd shoot their own mother if she got a cramp in her foot. lol

Then I doubt you've had many of them cut you down publicly or attempt to make you look inferior by comparison. It's even worse when you do call them out on it and you have people basically scold you for trying to make light of their BS.

Then forgive me as well. I'm not denying the humanity of people that believe they're untouchable and godlike, but I sure do find humor in the irony of it all. My toes are always out of line when I'm trying to make a little point. I can't defend that.

No offense taken! I just have problems w/ clarity and end up going on-and-on w/ details. Just wanted to make sure people knew I was talking about the type that piss in your cereal and then expect you to sit there and eat it. Those who just prefer Wheaties to Lucky Charms in their own bowl are okay in my book. Ughhh...there I go again! Fruit Loops are in my bowl today, obviously. haha

I know exactly what kind of people you are talking about. I once posted a photo of myself stretching a straddle split (without my toes pointed... because I was flexibility training..) and this girl just unleashed on me in a comment. 😲 LOL

I thought you were supposed to flex your feet as well as pointing them when doing leg stretches to make sure you properly work the muscles?

Me, personally don't like the term 'Foot-Nazi' as I find it in poor taste. The word Nazi for me depicts images of the holocaust. I think an another term could be used to mean the same thing. Many of our Canadians died fighting in WW2. P.S. I wanna keep my toes even though I cramp up like crazy and tried many things but it's like anything. I have to train my feet to point due to wearing nsg shoes since '87, and a broken foot. Just be patient with me and well don't look at me if I am not perfect. I am not poling for you but for me.

I innocently used a similar term (grammar Nazi) while I was studying abroad in Japan. I had no idea there was a German student at the table. Everyone tried to explain to him that it was just a common American figure of speech, but he was already offended. I felt terrible, especially since I studied German all through school. Since this is an international community, I can imagine many people may not be familiar with the slang use of "Nazi" in America and may also be upset by it.
