Hey guys, someone I work with ices skates in her spare time and has shown me an accessory that ice skaters use to increase leg flexibility. I've purchased one today and was wondering if anyone here has heard of maxiflex? I can't wait to try it.

Hurray, the MaxiFlex finally arrived today. I had a quick go but didn't want to go too far as I wasn't warm. Will keep you guys posted on what I think. It didnt cost much so I'll be very pleased if it does help me progress.

My boyfriend was watching me stretch last night and mentioned something that people that do karate put around their legs to stretch, I wonder if this was what he was talking about? Let us know how it works!

I'm not warm to be able to use the maxiflex right this miniute so I took a couple of photos of the instruction leaflet to show you how it works. I also linked to a youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYMkeFbaz50 I'd skip to 2:50 if you are going to watch it though as it drags on abit. I'm going to take progress photos once a week and will share them with you. Stretch 1.JPG Glitterhips -I know what your boyfriend is talking about, I think those are abit more hardcore though and only work on the box splits, they are also not very easy to store as they are quite large.

Glitter I think this is kinda what you BF is talking about.I saw this in forums awhile ago and can't remember were I saw it, but boom http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAeuplQdyZM here it is again. Super cheap and it makes stretching for box splits easier. 😀

Any updates on the maxiflex? I did some research on it and it looks pretty good but I'm still a little leery😕

There is a website for it. I did a google search on "maxiflex" and "reviews on maxiflex" as well as I watched the link above on youtube. If you're looking to purchase one I found it at a good price on ebay.

Ok so I'm gonna answer my own question😉 I bought the maxiflex and absolutely love it. It's easy to use and wow does it make a difference. I've only been using it for a week but notice a huge difference already. I actually look forward to stretching now. Don't get me wrong it hurts like hell but once you get relax into it eases up and you can see your progress. Ankle get ready to meet ear 😀
Hey, I didn't realise anyone had posted on here for a long time, it just so happened to come up on my daily update email. I must be honest I haven't had time to use it properly due to being so busy. After March my work life should calm down and I'll have more time in the evenings to work on it. Glad to see that its working out well for you. When I have played arround with it I do find it much easier than streching sat on the floor.
id like to try using that as well as the crutches idea

@Shacko I hear ya about time. I work stupid hours and hate stretching on the floor in the traditional way so this has been a blessing. I hook it up to the door and stretch while I read, or watch tv. Thanks for posting about it😉 @kat pole princess if you're looking for great ab excercises and are like me and get bored of doing the same workouts check out Kristy Wilson on youtube. She's a cirque du soleil performer and her workouts are amazing. I've been doing the advance core workout for the last month every night and I've noticed a difference in my toning as well as a lot of the tricks I've been working on.
I really like my Maxiflex too. I got it for pretty cheap off Amazon and it shipped quickly. I have it rigged to my X-Pole. It definitely beats stretching on the floor. It doesn't hurt as bad and I think it's easier to stretch farther. I stretch a lot more often with the Maxiflex than I would if I was doing it on the floor, and that means faster progress. I can do it while watching TV. Good investment, I think.

@MelanieDA rigging it to the pole is a great idea! I use mine with the door and I live in fear of someone opening the door and me bouncing my head off the wall. LOL @ Sair It's very worth it and really not that expensive. I found mine on ebay and paid $20 and $10 for shipping.

Ok so my Maxifles arrived today but the door won't close with it on there! Mine looks slightly different to the one the girl has in the you tube vid. Any idea how I would rig it to the pole?
Put a hook above the door and kinda pierce a hole in the top so it can fit through. It might fit at home, the doors at work may just be too flush to the top of the frame.
@HellsBells - I rigged the Maxiflex to my X-Pole using a shoelace (I should mention that I have the older version of the X-Pole, the one with holes in it for use with the old release tools, NOT the one with X-Joints). Remove the metal adjuster cover, revealing the long adjuster screw. Thread a strong shoelace through the hole in the adjuster screw. Loop-knot the top of the Maxiflex around the pole, then tie both ends of the shoelace to the Maxiflex (for clarification, the Maxiflex itself is attached to the pole, but the shoelace just keeps the Maxiflex from sliding down while you're using it). Hope this helps.
