First time pole buyer

I am looking into getting my first pole for my house I am going to get a 50mm chrome most likley xpert xpole. Should I get it used so its not so slick or new so I do not risk any problems with it? Also a new pole is 326 on here and most used are 200+ shipping which may come near to what id pay for a new one.
