Would you say the figurehead looks best on spinning? Do people figurehead on static ever? Is it considered a transition or an actual move? What are some moves to get into a figurehead? So far I can only do it for standing. And what are some moves to chain after it? So far I only know to V invert after it. Figurehead combos please :)

I've done a side climb into a figurehead. When I go into it, I swing my outside arm back some and it gives you a little backward motion as not to look like just a pose. The only other thing I have done after it beside an invert is the Teddy.

Figure head is a great 'breather' move to give yourself a chance to slow your routine down. You can teddy or invert as suggested from it, which opens up lots of options, but because your arms are right there, you can twist to then face the pole and go into anything that your heart desires.
Think of ways you can make Figurehead itself a dynamic pose vs. a static one that you just hold. Best option is to do some movement with your arms (once you're strong enough in it that you can move your arms rather freely), like arching your back and head and reaching the free arm back overhead, or reaching towards the audience dramatically with outstretched fingers, etc. Another thing you can do to move out of it: Fan Kick and turn into a Plank. Sorta hard to describe in words but you grab the pole like you would to invert, free your legs from the Figurehead, then do a Fan Kick just like you would from the floor. And as your body twists back towards the pole, you get your inside leg around the pole so it's now between your legs, and lean back into a plank (then Advanced Plank, CAR, whatevs). Takes some practice but looks really nice, especially if you can get a nice high Fan Kick in the air. It's my new favorite transition. :)

I just managed to do a figurehead on the first try (and I'm not the kind who gets pole moves on the first try! LOL!) and was looking to see how I could incorporate it. The ideas in this thread are really awesome! :) Particularly love the figurehead-to-plank idea. Would've never thought of it!
Shoulder mount is the classic exit out of figurehead, FYI, whenever you are ready to do your aerial shoulder mount.
Superman to figurehead then figurehead to aerial invert is my go to, but I do the figurehead where the pole is under my arm and not with arms over head. I can't shoulder mount so the arms over head always leaves me confused as to what to do next >_< on spin pole I like a simple side spin into figurehead http://instagram.com/p/qI6cR9mUHe/ and if your spinning you can turn it into a climb by I guess sort of pencil spinning out of it then climbing?
