Felix Cane Pole Dance Mastery Series: Flexibility

Has anyone tried this DVD? I will be without my pole for several months so I'd like to try and build up flexibility while I'm away from it. I'd love to hear what you thought of it, the reviews seem to be good but it's a little pricey (I'm in the UK) and I'm VERY inflexible so it would be good to know if it would be useful for me, or if anyone has any other recommendations :)

If you're a beginner in terms of stretching its very good, it also gives you a full body stretch in one DVD without having to use a pole. Yoga bricks might be quite useful if you struggle with hamstring flexibility, it may be hard to balance in a couple of stretches if you cant reach the floor like me!resistance bands or a scarf etc will help too

Really good DVD. A little long so set aside time or break it up to different focus areas each time. I love how informative and knowledgeable she is.

This one is probably the best in her series, and the most varied flexibility routine I've ever seen. You don't just get "the hamstring stretch," you get multiple hamstring stretches, for different areas! She breaks things up into different areas of the body, so if you want to, you can just skip to the one you want and do that one for the day. I'd say give it a shot!

I have this one and I like it, overall. I do have a couple of pet peeves with it, though. The main one is that there aren't great verbal cues - she doesn't always let you know when she's switching sides on a stretch and never verbally lets you know when she's moving on to the next stretch. This annoys me because when you're in a stretch, you're often not able to be looking steadily at the screen to see when she's transitioning. The other thing is the functioning of the menu. The stretches are divided into sections based on what area they stretch. This is great, but the one time I used it, I picked the section I wanted to start on and it picked up in the middle of a stretch! Weird. Otherwise, its fantastic. As others mentioned, there are a lot of stretches so I feel like its very thorough. There's also a warm-up that is helpful since you shouldn't stretch cold. I use yoga blocks and a yoga strap to modify as I'm naturally pretty inflexible. I'm working on it, though, and I feel like this DVD really helps!

Since you asked for other suggestions, I'll add that there are many individual stretching lessons here and three, 20 + mins long stretching routines for the splits and back. 🌸

Great information everyone, thanks - I might give it a go :) I do want to get the lessons here once I've moved in with my boyfriend and have the time and space to practice, but that's a few months away so I'm waiting as there's no point when I'm at home and can't have my pole up.

So the DVD arrived yesterday and I tried it out this morning - I think it was a good investment! Much as I sweated and swore my way through it, I managed to touch my toes at the end! Which is more than I can normally manage :) hopefully doing it a few times a week will lead to progress.
