fake nails a problem?

I have had fake nail with american manicure and was going twice a month, it always looked good. I've had them off for a couple of months at least. I have not had my pole during that time when I had them. They were not long they had to be just barely over the finger and not longer..Anyway my question may be lame but is this a problem for polers? Any examples or advice would be appreciated. thanks
