Extensions to fit 7'2 ceiling?

Are there extensions out there that can lower the Xpert X-pole? I was just about to order the Xpert when I realized that the ceilings in the room I'll be using to begin with are too low, measuring at 7'2. (so close!) I knew before hand that my ceilings are very low but didn't think they were "too" low since I work around it fine on my scaffold pole. 😕 Are there extensions for this? And if not, what were the height restrictions on the old Xpole, I might have a chance to buy one of those? Thanx all! BunnyKara

I'm sure that if you call Xpole they'll have a solution for you. I know that Foxy_Rei had the same issue, & she bought an extra extension that she used in place of one of the main poles in order to make the pole shorter. I'm pretty sure that the new poles (Xpert included) have the same extensions as the older poles did, so this should work. No need to buy the older style pole (you'd probably only be able to buy it used now anyway)!!

Yup, my ceilings are 7' even. I emailed X-Pole directly asking if it was possible to use one of their extensions in place of the lower pole piece, and they said yes. I had to get the 720? 750? extension (it was 700-something, lol). The only drawback is that there is a lot of my adjuster screw showing, almost 6 inches. You'll end up using the extra extension along with one of the smaller ones that comes with the standard kit. My lower main pole still sits in the case unused, lol. I also have the "classic" top-loading X-Pole, and I assume that the sizes are the same for the new poles... If in doubt, email X-Pole and ask. 🙂 But yes, you can get an X-Pole to fit shorter ceilings, don't despair. I almost started crying when I thought I wouldn't be able to get an X-Pole, so I was SOOO happy when I found out there was a way. Good luck!

On the old poles it was definitely a 750 mm extension to go from 6.5 to 7.5 feet. I'm not sure about the new poles as I THINK I heard the extensions are slightly different but I don't know yet for sure . However the reason I'm commenting is I have a couple of 100 mm extensions around (because I have several poles) and I highly recommend that you always keep a 100 around...it often helps make up just enough difference so that you have less of the adjuster rod extended on your pole on various ceiling heights. It just seems a good "extra" to have around.

Ooo Empyrean I could kiss you... I completely forgot that they made litty bitty extensions! I might have to order one, because since there is so much of my adjuster screw showing I have to use the adjuster cover, and I don't like it... It doesn't feel secure because it's just being held up there by spring buttons 😲 I used to go without it but kept skinning my ankle on the screw. So I think I'd better order one before they discontinue the old style. 🥂

Thank you all for answering! I to almost started to cry as I measured my ceilings... just 2" off! I have emailed X-pole to ask them about the extensions for the Xpert and I'll be sure to let you all know... but it's nice to know that it theoretically should be possible. 🥂

Yep...those 100mm are just perfect sometimes. Glad I could help. Foxy...you aren't saying that you try to hold onto the slide cover when it's in place? It's suppose to be decorative not functional and you're right...it's barely held up there by those two bearings.

I try not to hold onto it, but it's hard to work around with my ceilings being so short - 7' ceilings and I'm 5'4", so when I put my hand above my head on the pole to do a spin it's right at the bottom of the cover. And when I invert, I have to be careful not to kick the ceiling or dome; so I have to put my legs up then slide down so my feet are just under the cover before I grip and let go with my hands - but I still managed to kick the screw or something without the cover on. I know better than to put my full weight on it, I just come into contact with it more often because of the height issue. Oh, if it helps any, my video with the Remi move - when I climb up the pole to get into position, my head is touching the dome when I stop (just above the camera's view), so that's as high as I can get. :-/

Yeah...we have 8 foot ceilings so I wont put the cover on cause for some of my girls their reach is high enough to grab the pole. Once we got the 100mm extensions it solved the problem with hitting the adjuster rod...PLUS you have a few more inches of usable space. When I first got mine and use to use the slide cover I accidently grabbed it near the bottom edge and it came down and pinched the skin of my palm underneath it....had a terrible blood blister from it! That was when I stopped using the slide cover. Now we only use it for photo sessions.

Just an update if anyone ever has the same problem. I contacted X-pole and they said that indeed I would be able to use a 750mm extension with the Xpert! 🥂 So happy since I almost thought I couldn't buy one. Thanx for the hele everyone! So I ordered my pole and extension (sooner than I thought I'd be able to, YAY!) and am right now in a place I know many of you can relate to... waiting for my pole to arrive! 🤸

YAY!! My X-Pert + extension arrived today! When putting it up I replaced main pole B with the 750mm extension but even with the adjuster fully extended it still didn't reach the ceiling 🤔 so I added the smallest extension and now have about 2" of adjuster showing. I must say that the X-pert is a brilliant piece of design! It took a bit getting familiar with all the pieces and I was super careful to not over tightening it (turning the adjuster ever so slightly at a time) so it I think In all It took me about 2 hours to put up. 😜 But I can see how easily it can be done once you know what you're doing. I'm very glad that they changed the design cause when standing on my toes fully extending my arm high I grab the pole right at the dome... right where the old adjuster cover snaps used to be. 😲 Haven't had a proper practice on it yet but so far I'm in love!

Glad it worked out for you! It's funny...the new design is SO confusing the first time and then once you get it you're like...WHY was I confused by this? 🤔
