Has anyone heard of this brand of pole before? http://www.star-pole.com/ I am looking at getting an X-Pole, but this is quite a bit cheaper. They say that it is a professional grade pole. I just don't want to get some piece-o-crap pole that will fall down when I'm using it!!!

Looks like a big rip off of X-Pole. Look at the assembly instructions, and how it mentions purchasing extensions. They also don't have any floor to ceiling pictures showing the whole pole. They're probably fake X-Poles that they've branded. Just save for the real thing.

I don't believe X pole has started allowing companies to re brand their pole. 🤔 Soooo the poles would have to be those knockoffs that are being sold. I wouldn't buy from them, the fake X poles are known to be faulty!! 😈
They have full length pictures on their website. I made sure to check for that. Normally the X-Pole knock-offs are called Pole-X's I thought....? Or at least that's what I've seen on eBay. I'm going to look online for some reviews and see what I find, but I don't think I will buy it. My safety is worth more than the price difference between the Star Pole and the X Pole!!
The reason you don't see all the fakes listed under the same name is that these ripoff poles (and I PROMISE you that's what you're looking at) are constantly having to change their names because they're constantly being chased by lawyers! They keep switching the way they list the poles so they can keep selling their CRAP. While it may look the same in pictures, I guarantee you the upper dome will probably be plastic, which WILL crack completely open when you tighten the pole. If you look at all the reputable professional poles, x-pole, lil mynx, platinum stages, even hardcore poles, you will notice that they all fall into a very similar price range. That's because the materials involved are NOT CHEAP and machining all the pieces is a highly labor-intensive process. If they were not perfectly machined, you will wind up having serious problems with putting it together. Ask yourself, what must they have done to this pole that they can manufacture it for $200 less than a quality piece of equipment? There's no good answer. PLEASE save your money for the real thing. You are probably the 25th person I have seen looking at the fakes, and in literally every single instance you wind up with a broken ripoff, and just having to go back around and get a real x-pole anyway, then you spent $500! Just save your pennies and order an x-pole from veena on this website. She doesn't even charge for shipping, so you'll get a wayy better deal than you could on ebay, where the shipping will be $40 flat rate to the US. If you save your money for an x-pole from veena, you will have a piece of equipment that I have seen engineers absolutely marvel at, and it will potentially be with you for the rest of your life. Don't underestimate what you're paying for with an official x-pole from veena. I myself was skeptical about whether x-pole was worth the money, but it is a rock-solid pole, and the safety and the peace of mind that come with it are literally priceless. If you don't trust your pole, you won't give your all when you're learning moves. And you deserve the fun of throwing yourself all over your dance partner! Good luck!
Thanks for the info! Shipping from Veena to Canada is $60.00 plus the price of the pole, so I'm looking at around $360.00 US (then add on the extra $$ for the conversion to Canadian $$). That's the only reason why I was even considering the cheaper pole. But a cheap pole is exactly that, cheap!! I looked and I couldn't find any reviews outside of their website, so that made me nervous. I did send them and e-mail asking them a few questions about their pole (the number of ball bearings and what the top dome is made out of). No way will I buy a cheap pole without asking a bazillion questions!! But after thinking about it, I will most definitly be ordering a pole from Veena (if and when I order a pole). I've looked everywhere and Veena offers the cheapest X-Pole (thank you Studio Veena!!). 🥂

The customer support at Star-Pole responded to my e-mails. They say that the reason the Star-Pole is cheaper than the X-Pole is because it doesn't come with a carrying case, or an instructional DVD 😕 They've been selling the poles in Canada for over 2 years, which really isn't that long. This is copied from their e-mail: The Star-pole is made of steel which is finished in electroplated chrome(this is what gives it the professional chrome look while the steel gives it the strength.). The dome is made of chrome plated steel also. The Star-pole can be switched from static to spinning mode and vice versa. Two screws are turned when you enter an allan key into a hole at the base pole and 6 ball bearings rotate it. Once the pole is assembled it is smooth except for where the two poles meet in the middle where they screw together and also where the adjuster cover covers the adjuster at the top. After taxes and everything the Star-Pole would end up costing me about $310.00 CA. The X-Pole would cost about $380.00 CA (including shipping and hopefully any other charges that they'll add on as it crosses the border). For an extra $70.00, I think I will get the X-Pole. I just wanted to share the info on the Star-Pole with everyone in case they were looking at it. I have to say I'm impressed with Star-Pole's customer service. They answered all my questions and they responded quickly!

Never heard of them. However i can tell you that the pictures that they are using for advertising are STOCK photos that can be purchased. Meaning that is NOT there dance pole in action. Nor are the videos that they have posted up on the site. If you read closely it says that the videos are instructional videos from Videojug. When purchasing a dancepole, you want to make sure that the company selling the dance poles as pictures of thier own product being used along with video. It does look like a rip off of an Xpole.
I am from Toronto and I thought of buying one too but i was afriad so I didn't and I'm glad because buying from Studio Veena was the best thing ever! It was hard to save the money but every payday I would just transfer what I could into my paypal account until I had $400. It took forever but it was worth it!! With paypal it takes so long to transfer the money in there so it was easy to not take it out. I got my pole the same day I ordered it! I don't know how but I don't care cause it was fantastic! So just save your money and get one from studio veena, it will be the best choice ever!
I bought a Star pole, before i joined veena 😳 dont feel too safe on it. Has fell twice while doing a fast spin, and one day i heard a pop then noticed a metal ball on the floor, pretty sure that would be a bearing !!!! grrr if i would have known there were fake x poles ! i did some research but i guess not enough, i was in the same boat i live in canada and thought that 70 dollars or more was expensive for shipping. Never been on a x pole, but i bet there is a difference. if i could go back i would totally spend the extra money 😢

Wow!! 😮 I bought my starpole about a year ago after my friend told me about them. It was much cheaper than the x-pole and mine works great, I know that alot of the girls at my pole studio have bought them and love it too!!!! ❗
I still use it, I do like it. But falling twice kinda scares me (after the second fall is when a bearing popped out). Now that I’m inverting I am paranoid that it is going to fall while I’m upside down 😢 , although I check that it is stable before inverts. I just wonder if there would be a big difference between the star pole and x pole in stability?
