Enough room for a pole?

I have a 7' by 7' space in the middle of my apartment's guest room. It's got older funky 90s low-pile carpeting and a popcorn ceiling. I need to NOT do damage to the apartment so I don't end up paying a fortune when I leave. I'm 5'10" (height in my legs) and mostly looking to practice at home to suppliment my studio work... So... is this enough room to pole safely? And, can anyone recommend removeable poles that do the least damage? I'm mostly deciding between x-pole and Lil' Minx. Thanks in advance for the advice!

I love my X pole, it's a 45mm Xpert and it in my kitchen, it's a bit tight on one side because I'm only a few feet from a radiator but I adapt my moves although occasionally I give my leg a good whack or nose dive into the cat's food lol, but I woild say that your space sound good, I read somwhere, that ideally you should be able to hold onto the pole with one hand and walk around it with the other arm outstretched and not be able to touch anything and that will give you enough room. I could do with more room but it was a case of pole there or nowhere, so I adapt to it. I'm sure other people on here will give you good advice on poles, but I've had two X poles and I haven't had any problems, they're quite easy to move but my pole stays up most of the time. :)

the popcorn on my ceiling has been "popped" off where my pole is. That popcorn stuff is SUPER EASY to fix, so I would not worry about that. The important thing is to not screw up the sheetrock by installing your pole where there is no stud. Busted in sheet rock is much harder to repair. I think you are fortunate to have access to a room for poling- even if it is small. do it. you may not be able to choreograph a full blown routine with fireworks and cartwheels, but you'll totally be able to get a work out.

the popcorn will only come off if you put the pole up then take it down, then put it up and take it down... etc. so you may not need to fix anything if you just leave the pole up. if the ceiling ends up balding a little, you can find ceiling texture spray at home depot, lowes, and ace hardware https://www.studioveena.com/photos/next/50243537-54a8-4dc3-8c46-119f0ac37250

:-D you might not even need it... i guess it depends on how nit picky the landlord is. if the owner is looking at floors and walls and not looking up at the ceiling, he/she probably wont notice. i use that texture stuff on art projects too 🙂

That sounds like a great place to put a pole! I will deal with the popcorn issue when I get back to the US, but I have read about others who also have it. Like Katana said, you can get the stuff to repair it if it comes off. I have read from others that they just noticed the popcorn stuff squished down from the dome on their xpole.
