Do You Let Your SO Watch You Practice?

Just curious. I don't, just because there's nothing sexy about me grunting and cussing while I'm hanging upside down and trying to figure out exactly what goes where. My boyfriend's seen me do a couple of spins and v inverts while I'm just screwing around, because it's hard to have my pole just sitting in my living room and not play on it, but I'd rather wait until I'm comfortable with the move before he sees it. I did finally do a pole dance for him last weekend, though, so I don't mind him watching, I just don't want him seeing my first few clumsy attempts at whatever move I'm currently working on. It might not be true, but I feel like if he sees me practice it when it still looks like crap, when I put it into a dance for him all he'll be able to see is me awkwardly sliding down the pole cursing myself for ever being stupid enough to take up pole dancing.

Hehe, I understand...the performance needs practice! I've let my hubby watch once or twice, but generally the dance is much more deliberate and simple, especially since he can't seem to get the rule "no touching the dancers!" though his head! But that's okay 😉 I also showed him my CKR the other day. I don't think he really understood what kind of breakthrough it was for me, though! 🙄 He said "Oh, that's cool." But, you know what? Once I make it, and many other things, look good, I'll probably get much more of a reaction! 🥂 I am also very self-conscious about what I do. I have a hard time letting ANYONE watch me! I'm moving soon, and we're gonna have a spare room for hobbies (and pole!) so that'll be good! 🥂 🥂

yes i do . He actully helps me alot.Im a beginer and im trying to do a pole sit and a sunwheel and i havent gotten them yet, but he has. 😀 He wont admit it but i think he likes poling too... 😉

My boyfriend has actually been really well-behaved during all the dances I've done for him! I've danced...3 times for him, I think? The first two were just strip teases with a lap dance, and the last one was the pole dance I did for him, which was a strip tease and then a lap dance, and I thought I'd have to make him sit on his hands or something, but he was very good. The look on his face the whole dance was priceless though. 😂 He probably wouldn't have really given two craps about it if I hadn't had my top off for part of it, though. dustyfox, that's cute that you and your guy pole together. My boyfriend spins on my pole a little, but that's about it. Actually, I was really pissed at him because he did a chair spin perfectly the very first time he got on the pole. He was just messing around and didn't even realize it was a move; I didn't show it to him or anything! (I couldn't even do it at that point.)

considering I dont have a pole at home, its a no. but even if I did have one at home, I wouldnt let him watch me. I get creeped out when he watches me work out at home (one of the reasons I joined the gym as well). We live in such a small space that the pole would have to be put up/taken down every time. I just dont think id like the idea of working on something while hes watching ESPN or doing the dishes. 😳

haha my boyfriend lives for watching me pole dance. he watches the veena lesson video with me then watches me try it and offers advice and tries to help me do it. he also enjoys playing around on it. he used to polevault so he has a lot of the necessary muscles and can do a beautiful shoulder mount. i like making him try new things. overall, he is able to separate me practicing from me performing and he appreciates the difficulty of what i am trying to do so he doesn't care when i fall/fail and i think it makes it all the better for him when i can finally do it and he thinks its even sexier that i have gained the strength/ability to do the spin/move. for example, i've been playing around on spinning pole a bit lately and i started just doing some kick spin holds (like boomerang but with baseball grip) on spin which i could only really hold for a second or two, which slowly turned in to a kick spin for about 5 seconds to fireman combo, which now has turned in to a kick spin for however i can hold it to a fireman hold which i then take my left hand off the pole, and lean back, then whip around the pole to go quicker, and then slowly release my thighs and point my legs out so i slowly glide down the pole. he LOVES seeing me improve and build on this move because he thinks its sexy that i am getting stronger and better at it. AS for the lack of enthusiasm over the CKR, before joey attempted anything he was the same way. i think people in general will always be blown away by some really simple moves and then unimpressed by what are difficult moves to us but to them they don't look that hard. people don't automatically assume that sitting on a pole hurts or that climbing a pole is hard. but its extremely painful and difficult. joey used to think that it was easy and then i made him try it and he squealed like a baby and was like ITS RIPPING MY SKIN! hahaha, so now he gets impressed every time i can possibly sit on the pole for longer than 2 seconds without jumping off and doing a pain dance. 🤸

joey used to think that it was easy and then i made him try it and he squealed like a baby and was like ITS RIPPING MY SKIN! Ha ha ha ha! 😂 Men can be such big babies sometimes. They'd never survive childbirth.

He never wants to. LOL I pole in a room upstairs and he generally spends most of his time downstairs in the the livingroom so he'd have to go out of his way to come watch me and he's not really interested in pole so he rarely does. Sometimes he'll pop in to talk to me but that's it.

My pole is up in the garage which is where we have our gym set up also. Sometimes he is out there working out, sometimes not. I have no problems with him being in the same room while I practice.

There actually seem to be quite a few husbands/boyfriends who aren't interested in seeing their SO pole, which surprises me. I would have thought most of them would have been like 'Ooh yay, my wife's my own private stripper now!' (Even though that's not what it's about, but that tends to be how men think.) My boyfriend doesn't like strip clubs (he's been once and didn't care for it,) but he likes to watch me dance. Although, I do the whole show: striptease while I dance, followed by a lapdance. He probably wouldn't be that interested in just watching me pole, although he did say the moves were entertaining to watch.

My husband must be the odd one out...he loves that I love to pole dance and is DYING to watch me dance - if I just walk around in thigh highs and he is a happy boy...haha - but no...a dance hasn't happened yet. I barely even practice around him - unless I really need a spot for something inverted. In general I dance for me...one day I will dance for him...I keep saying that but really it's been like 5 years now so I must have some weird hang up 😕 😲 ❓

I say just go for it. It can be pretty nerve wracking at first--I've been with my boyfriend for over three years, so I'm very comfortable with him obviously, but I was pretty nervous about pole dancing for him. However, once I stretched out, took some deep breaths, got into my outfit and started the music, I just sort of let go and had a lot of fun with it, and we both enjoyed ourselves. If it doesn't go perfectly, just laugh it off and whip off your top. 😉 That oughta' disctract him.

Yes... although he tends to be more absorbed in his xbox than me! Story of my life!!!!!! LOL What is it about xbox that is so addictive??? Is it the male pole equivalent? You know I've stood in front of my husband pretty much naked whilst he has been on the xbox and he has just looked up and said "alright love" then gone back to his game! 😂 I've been with my husband for 12 - 13 years now and I still don't feel comfortable dancing for him - am sure he was expecting something fantastic when he bought my pole for me last Christmas, but no. I will show him a new move every so often and he will stand there and look impressed for a reasonable amount of time and then return to Call of Duty! The joys of men! 🙄

You know, I've heard numerous women say that they could stand in front of their man naked or practically so and he wouldn't even bat an eyelash if he was playing his X-box. I don't get it. 🤔 My boyfriend's a gamer too, but if I start changing out in his living room in front of him, he always stops his game to watch. Apparently he's abnormal in that respect. (Well, not just that one. 😂 )

Haha, ladies, my husband isn't really a gamer (particularly not much for the xbox), but I am! Oh man! I don't play online games or anything (I was once addicted to WoW...), but if I'm really into something, it's hard to get me to do anything BUT that! Although, I gotta say, if the hubby is taking things off, I'll usually pause and give him attention! 🥂 Video games are great...but I like physical activity (particularly pole) just as much. 🐱

I like playing video games once in a while (although I wouldn't really consider myself to be a gamer,) but if there's nudity going on in the same room, I can turn away from the TV screen, and I don't even have all those male 'duh huh huh look at the boobies' hormones running through me!
