Hello! I purchased a pole from FitPole which has a painted surface. How do you make your cleaning solutions for your studio/home poles? They say that a solution with alcohol can be used, but also water or neutral detergents are good. I am using liquid chalk as a grip aid, so I am looking for something that would nicely clean that off. Any recommendations?

Hi! If you're looking to deep clean your pole, as in, get all of the grip aid off and have a fresh start I suggest steam cleaning. Use a clothes steamer, some members said they've use the steam function on their irons. Here's how I do it https://www.studioveena.com/tutorial/how-to-deep-clean-your-pole-free-1277/
Otherwise I use window cleaner, even on my powder coated (painted) finishes. However, some people can be allergic to aspects of the cleaner, so alcohol would be better in that case.
Also, for some people they find that not cleaning their pole creates a better grip for them, this doesn't work for everyone, but you don't HAVE to clean your pole every time.

Hey Veena, thank you for the quick reply! The steamer idea is awesome, I will try out the steaming function of my iron, but I’m glad to hear that using a window cleaner is the best option as that is what I have been using so far as “emergency option” - the one from Method to be more specific. I am one of the polers that needs the pole to be cleaned only every now and then, especially now that the pole is new and has still sort of a “oily” coating. The steam might help precisely for that ??
