Devastated!

So my Dad came l my new place today to help me find the best place for the pole and there is none. We went out side and the car port and back entertainment areas aren't strong enough either. I'm absolutely devastated. I've been looking forward to poling for the four weeks I've been out of home. There's absolutely nothing Dad can do in the rental property that will make my xpert not be dangerous. Anyone have ideas? I was looking at a podium pole. But they're so expensive and I don't want to get rid of my pole. I guess sucking it up is going to be the best way huh?

What is it that makes using your xpole there dangerous?

CloSmo, have you called X-Pole to see if they have a solution for you? If you explain the situation you may be able to provide a potential idea. Also, have you considered the StudioVeena Pole? It requires far less pressure to mount since it only requires enough pressure to keep the top of the pole locked into the bracket.

Hi Veena, the ceiling turns out to be fairly flimsy. We put it up but the pressure of the pole basically started to lift the entire ceiling upwards. The pole didnt stay put and was sliding each time weight was applied. Hi Webmaster, haven't looked at the Veena pole. It's a bit expensive for me right now, but might be an option in the future. But I'm still afraid of the structural soundness of the place

There has to be some kind of beam in the ceiling, even if it is higher up than the surface where you would ordinarily use the dome. Can you cut a hole in the ceiling and use a vaulted/permanent mount for the Xpole? That's what some studios with drop ceilings do.

IF it turns out you have a weird ceiling, you might start saving up for an x stage lite.

There are spots to put the pole, but they're not secured. The entire ceiling lifts up when we put the pole up. The beams can be pushed up with your hand. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by joists. I've never heard of an x stage lite. I will look it up now

The pole needs to be put over a joist, which are the beams IN the ceiling. It sounds like you have a drop ceiling? Lift the tiles up and look up above the ceiling. there SHOULD be wooden beams up there that are solid.

I will have a look, but I'm not sure that's what I have. But then again, I don't have a clue about these kind of things. This is what the ceiling looks like. With beams on the outside. Ill speak to Dad again, he'll know what's going on a lot more than I will.

That is some sort of suspended or drop ceiling, however, it doesn't look like there is a good way to get behind the ceiling material itself. From the photos you posted I would not try to install any kind of pole on it :(

So it would be better to save for the Xstage Lite then I guess :( Thanks for your help, everyone!
