Dermal Anchors and Poling

Does anyone have dermal anchors? If so, are they a problem when poling? I've got a few other piercings and they aren't really an issue because they are somewhat moveable or I can change the jewelry for my comfort. I've been thinking about getting a few dermal anchors, especially in my lower back and on my forearms or hands. Since they are actually implanted, I didn't know if they'd be painful with pressure or if it's not really an issue at all. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

I have one and it doesn't interfere with pole, it's in the back of my neck though so it's not really going to get in the way there! Maybe if you get them on your back they might rub and catch on the pole :)

I have two on the back of my neck. They've never caused me a problem. In addition to location, also consider the type of jewelry you put in. The dermal tops i usually wear are pretty flat to the skin so they never really get in the way. I suppose if you got round balls or spikes, it would probably get in the way a lot more.

I am going to get 3 around my belly button, like in a triangle - i had my bellybutton pierced 3 times and my scars are horrible so i want to cover them up. I am getting the first one done this week.. I will keep you posted on how i get on with them!

I use to have a dermal anchor on my face below the corner of my eye (anti brow). I loved it, but it started to grow out so i had to get it removed... I cant imagine it would really cause too many problems once its fully healed and you are use to it being there... I have my belly button pierced and its been pierced almost 7 years and when it catched on the pole, it usually never hurts too much... I would say go for it just use extra caution until its fully healed. It took my anti brow about 10 weeks to fully heal. But I take to piercings really well. I want to get my collarbones down with dermals

One thing I should add that will determine if you may have an issue or not, if your piercer uses a solid anchor or one that has a hole in the middle of the anchor. The solid ones have been known to have the possiblly to pull out with snagged the right way- but the up side to these is you do not need to have it cut out if you want it removed. I had the one with the hole in it and this type has skin grown around the hole while its inside. If you want it removed you need it cut out. But dont be scared by the name, its really not bad at all. Both types of jewlery can be rejected by your body eventually since it is a surface piercing. Just keep it clean and you'll be golden.
