CUSTOMIZE PROFILE?

Question- how do you get your "friends" to show up on your profile page. I can only view my friends if I click on "my friends." And nothing happens when I click on "Customize Profile..." Is it just that I can't view my own profile as someone else might be able to? Or are my Friends actually not visible on my profile and this is a tech issue?
