I want to start crystalizing some of my pole attire. I have seen it done to Mika Yoga Wear and Pole Fit. What glue should I use and is there anything I should buy to help me? Is there a kit for this type of thing? Any ideas and help is appreciated. I am not crafty. Thanks!!!

Remember that 'bedazzler' thing...that might work, then the crystals will be hooked into the fabric. I'm not crafty either but I do remember the commercials for that thing made it look really easy :) https://www.asseenontv.com/bedazzler/detail.php?p=296300

I've tried glitter spray & a bedazzler type tool, wasn't happy with either. I have had good results sewing on sequin strips & my mom has covered a sports bra with sequin fabric for me.

I'd also like to try hot fix crystals, but haven't got to it yet

Hot fix crystals sounds interesting!
There are a couple of things. Heat Set rhinestones have a heat set glue on the back of them. They require a special heat gun and take a bit longer to bedazzle but is less messy than glue. My favorite glue is called Quick Grip. http://cdn1.stuff4crafts.com/catalog/product/cache/6/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/2/6/260601.jpg I found it when making repairs to an old pop up we had. This stuff LASTS and does what it says but it it can be very messy. I used this stuff when I made my disco ball bra and pretty much every costume I have made for Halloween for the last few years.
Mary Ellyn was doing something with the hot fix crystals a while back but I cannot remember where she had posted it.

Think I am gonna go to Hobby Lobby and check out the Hot Fix items. The on;ine sight was so confusing. I gave up. LOL!!!! I am gonna sparkle up some of my Pole Fit!!!!

I've watched a lot of "how to put rhinestones on shoes"-videos on youtube recently, they all worked with glue e-6000. and most of them said it's way better to work with glue than the hotfix, 1) it's cheaper to buy no hotfix stones and 2) it's quicker. of course that's for shoes, but i think it works the same for panties, bras etc ;) btw, ebay is a good source for rhinestones! i ordered from a store called please come in, and i can't wait for them to arrive so i can bedazzle my shoes!!! but there are a lot of other stores on the internet too, of course.i just found that ebay is way cheaper than buying them in an actual shop!
Hot fix rhinestones and Mylar paper. Place your stones face down in your chosen design on the sticky clear plastic and then place it sticky side down on your garment in the place you want it and place your hot iron over it. Do not move the iron about as if you were ironing the item as the stones may move, hold it still for at least 10 seconds then relocate it to another section of the design if necessary. Allow to cool and gently peel off the plastic. If any stones begin to lift whilst removing the plastic, simply put the plastic back down and iron again. Hope that helps someone out!

Can you use the Mylar paper with non hot fix crystals? I just bought some gorgeous swarovoski crystals for a costume but they aren't hot fix so I was wondering what I was going to do.
As long as you are careful with the glue, I would think you can still use the paper. You don't want to get glue on it cos then it won't stick in place.

I will be using crystals and not rhinestones. Where did you buy your crystals, Charley? This is gonna get time consuming. LOL! I was hoping there was a gun I could fill w crystals and shoot them wherever!!!!!

I got my crystals from a local place - they were NOT cheap though I would siggest Ebay - there are FAR better deals on Ebay and you get WAY more crystals. I spent $100 just on crystals!!!!

I love the hotfix crystals - super easy - I'm hoping I don't mess up on costume because the crystals were ridiculous!

I have looked online and do not understand the sizes, so I am just gonna go check out Hobby Lobby. Yes, Crystals are pricey but shine so much better than the plastic ones.
I've used the hotfix with a special hot fix tool. They sell a couple of different types but I got the one made by Jolee at Michaels. The tip is like a small iron...it heats up and you heat the crystals one at a time. You press it to each crystal for about 20 - 25 seconds. Very time consuming but they stay! I've washed some of my stuff in the machine several times and they stay on. I just saw this at Michaels Craft store yesterday and debated on wheather or not to get some. I make my own glitter heels and have made my own pole tops but why it didnt dawn on me to bling out the tops too is a mystery! Cant wait to have some fun with this!
I have used the tool too, and it is great providing you aren't working on a large design. I make, bling and sell booty shorts and tops all the time so I am pretty familiar with the process. eBay is far cheaper than any bricks and mortar location as a rule. As to sizes, the lower the ss number the smaller the stone. For example, ss
Ss10 is 2mm, ss12 is 3mm. I think ss8 is the smallest at 1mm, and extremely difficult to work with. You can also get shapes such as teardrops, hearts, ovals etc. if you want real sparkle go for the ab
By the way...I've never tried mine on shoes...it works really well on fabric though. It is a painstakingly slow proces. 20 seconds doesn't sound like a lot but it is and I always seem to need a lot more stones than I estimate.
