Crash Mat homemade???

Ok so after falling on my face once, ouch 😮 . I check for some crash mat and realize that there's no way i can afford a real one. So i'm gonna build one for straches...i'm mean really, the foam should be in a dumpster if i didn't save them. I have tons of square 1 inch foam (13'' X 17'') that i'm gonna glue together with aerosol glue. But where i need some advice is on the size and round vs square. I'm thinking about building then like that model http://www.poleenergy.com/shop/products-home/8-the-original-pole-o-mat.html so i can fold them and it's not in the way all the time. And it would fit in the trunck of my car if someday i have real life pole friend, hopefully someday 😕 Ok so i wait for your ideas and advice and hope to work it somewhere next week if i can.

tigger, I'm curious as to what you will end up making. I also want something so badly. I'm hoping for my birthday, but it's not till October 🙁 Anyway, I went to pole one day at a studio on my day off, a fun place few hours away. She had a home-made crash mat made with large size foam pads. I emailed to ask her what sizes she used to glue together and where she got them. I hope she answers me soon because my husband is willing for us to get something and make one. We went looking around the other day but want to know what she used. I don't think it was able to fold up, don't remember. By the way, what were you doing when you fell...I'm so scared of the first time I take a dive. I fell off a while back trying Superman from Gemini (when I couldn't even do a good Gemini) but was close to the ground so it wasn't too bad, but still didn't feel good.

Hooked, I found a folding exercise mat at Target for $30, complete with carry handles. It doesn't surround the pole, but I can place it under where I'll be trying a new trick (which I start low to the ground anyway). Sometimes I fold it into four layers, others two layers, and it's a great exercise mat unfolded. If you're on bendy chat tomorrow night, I'll show it to you.

I wonder too 😂 but if it don't look nice at least it will do the job. Unfortunately I work till 8 p.m. PT Thursday so am not able to joing bendy buddies on Thursdays. I usually am around on Fridays late in the day. I wonder if Target still sells it. What is the name, size, etc. Thanks for info.

Hi everyone. Here is a pic of a homemade mat I made out of 4 square cushions. 😛 I then purchased industrial strength velcro to stick them all together in all 4 corners inside and out and finished the outside velcro strap with same fabric to pretty it up. It is 6 1/2 inches deep by 4 feet wide. It has saved my ass in so many occations from 12 feet high falls. 😮 DSCF3705.JPG I ended up buying a round mat from yoga direct.com with optional black dura cover for walking on with heels.I bought a round one because I have the xstage and star stand alone for workshops,cost me total $400us and I teach with it. It comes in square or round mat with vinyl cover. So another option is to buy only the round or square dura cover made of thick canvas, $50 us plus shipping which comes with a zipper and stuff it with your own foam. Hope that helps. Also, If your in Ontario, I am selling my homemade mat in the pic for $50.00 as I no longer need it. The velcro itself cost $50. Its in great condition, clean with no stains or tears. It would be too big,bulky and expensive to ship I think.

Thanks Joni i will definitely take a look at the cover it would save me so much money!!! If was closer i would love to buy your mat but in Quebec it's a little bit far for a ride 😂
