Guys! For some reason when I do my cradle spins, my mid to upper thigh is touching the pole at the end of the spin, instead of my hip. What am I doing wrong? https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/4df54be2-3114-4282-92ed-07b80ac37250

Is there a reason why you feel its wrong if the thigh is touching instead of the hip? I saw the vid and it looks fine to me. 🌸My only suggestion would be that you might want to try bending the top arm more so its not locked. (it looked locked or fully extended not sure if it was) This can be very stressful on the joints during the cradle. Using the bicep also allows for more control, I feel.
It just seems like everyone else I see do this spin has their hip on the pole the whole time (my old instructor included.) I can't figure out how to do it that way.

Our bodies are different, and so there is nothing wrong with slight differences like that leg positioning......For most I think it would be a matter of strength..... so, too bring the pole closer into the hip you'll have to use the abs to lift/tuck the legs up higher towards the torso, Changing the position of the top arm will help with that. 🌸If you have the lessons go take a look at it again or maybe revisit the half Cradle.
I used to have the same issue with the cradle spin. i always hated it because my cradle spin never looked very good. i was always just falling out of it and not horizontal enough so i left it alone for a while. i started doing it again recently and it's alot easier now that i'm stronger but you could probably get it too, since it's supposed to be a beginner move. i just didn't get it till recently because i avoided doing it. now i can cradle spin into superman and butterfly. there's a trick to keeping your body up though. bend your top arm. that's the arm that's gonna pull you up and keep you horizontal. hope that helps.

I don't feel this should be considered a beginner move, so those of you who feel bad about not getting it right away don't....it takes strength. 🌸
well i never thought it was that easy but alot of ppl treat it as a beginner move. it was one of the first spins that was taught to me, but then again, i was taking classes at allure in LA when i first started. natasha wang even tried to teach it to one of the ladies on the view who had never pole danced before. also, one of the girls i used to work with tried to teach it to me when i had no pole experience... maybe it just comes easier to some people? it was always a challenge in the beginning for me though

I remember when I was learning the cradle spin. It was soooooooooo hard! I couldn't believe it. I definately think that it is one of the hardest beginner/intermediate spins. Good luck practicing it! :)
