Clips From Jungle Cat's First Time In a Studio

As most of you know I have been looking for a studio that allows males since I've started poling. Which is about 7 months now. And I told you guys I'd follow up with my first time in a studio and it was wonderful!!! It was a night of many first for me. It was my first time in a dance studio period, my first time meeting another pole dancer in person, and my first time working with an instructor! So needless to say I was really really intimidated. But the instructor was so sweet and down to Earth, she made me feel right at home. The instructor is Jessalynn Medairy. She's world reknowned and I can see why! OMG she's an incredible person, on the pole and off!! Thank you so much to Angel for referring me to her! 😀 Words can't express my thanks to you. Oh and I have more great news! She liked me so much that she asked me to teach the male class at her studio when it starts in October!!! I was really shocked because honestly I just don't think I'm that good. And compared to other males I'm not really that strong. And I have no prior dance experience or formal training in dance or anything. So I was really taken back. So I have a lot of work and training to do and stuff to learn if I want to be ready by October. Thank you for all your support, advice, words of encouragement, and prayers. Yay! Love the clips Jungle Cat. Very exciting to see you in a studio honing your natural talent. I think you would be a great instructor you're plenty strong and have a knack for the dancing. To boot you've got a great personality, exactly the kind of personality I would love in an instructor. You are humble, gracious, outgoing and happy. Probably many more great words. That really shows up in your clips at the studio. G-luck on being an instructor. I'll be looking forward to many more vids as you get into your groove at the studio.

Congratulations, Cat man! Listen, do not worry about your shortcomings as a poler or dancer. You have mad skills and MOST importantly, a sweet, humble nature and a thirst to learn which are the MOST important elements of a good teacher. You'll do just fine. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

You kick ass now and you'll kick ass as an instructor. I'm sure all the guys you will be teaching will just be happy to be in a studio (just like you were). You're gonna blow their mind. Take it easy on em! LOL

I can't imagine someone who has a studio would ask someone to be a teacher unless they had absolute faith that they would be good at it because it's their reputation and finances on the line so go you! I have to admit I have only watched a small snippet of your clips but you seem to have a great combination of strength and natural dance ability that will no doubt make you an awesome teacher as you train, practice, develop and teach! 🫡

Hey JC! So glad all this is happening for you! I knew you'd love her, but I never knew you'd end up with a job offer! Man, that's awesome!!! Listen, don't worry. You are going to be fine. Becoming a teacher forces you to become better! YOu have no choice, right? Sink or swim. I started teaching the upper level classes at my studio after only 6 months of dancing! No prior history, just really strong upper body and formal classroom teaching experience. I started buying DVDs, took ACE group fitness course and got certified. I also took pole position fitness instructor training, which was so valuable for my teaching. I'll help you through if want. And certainly, Jess will help you through. Of all the different pole teachers I've had, I'm most impressed with her. She'll train you and no doubt she wouldn't hire you unless she knew you were a good thing!! So rock on! 👍

And really probably the lack of other poling males in this area! 😂 I think I just sort of stand out because there really aren't that many males participating in this sport. As more men begin to step out there I honestly believe I will fall by the way side. Which I don't really mind. I do it for the love of the sport and fun, not for any glory 😛 Wow 6 months though?!?! That's incredible Angel, it really is! I really need to get cracking then myself. I've only watched up to Disc #2 of Jamilla's Art and Pole. Now that my gemini is a little better I should probably move on to #3 and learn everything I can, as fast as I can! I'll invest in some more DVDs too ASAP. I've never heard of ACE fitness courses until I just typed it in google. As soon as I finish this forum I'm going to switch back screens and do my research. And I'll also look into seeing where I can get pole instructor training too! Jess is an excellent teacher! She reminds me of Veena 🙂 They both explain things very thoroughly and simple to understand, very encouraging and always supportive, fun to be around, and their smiles always light up the room! I really hope I do Jess, Veena, and all of you very proud! 😀 Thanks for offering to help me! I need all the help I can get! After I research ACE more I'll email you when any questions I have!
