I just got Cleo's DVD and it was an amazing hard workout but I wish that at least one of the 3 of them didn't have super flexible powers so I could see what some of the stretches look like when you aren't already a master at it :/ Anyone else just start using it? I want to get Rockin Pole too!

I did not like it. I sold my copy almost immediately after I did it the first time.

I just got it too, I'm excited to give it a go! I took a peek and it looked pretty tough.
Haloanne, I have seen your videos and you are already super flexy! I'm not sure you need this video like I obviously do :) but it is super fun.
I just started this DVd a couple of weeks ago. it is really fun. I love the all the butt, leg, ab exercises. the high kick section is really tough, but I am seeing myself get a little stronger each time. I cant wait to get her rockin pole DVD. 90% of my at-home pole education comes from Veena's lessons but I like to do some DVD's like this for variety.

I started it a couple of weeks ago, I thought I was pretty fit.... It feels like it's going to make a difference and is the only thing that has improved my hip flexor stretchiness. I agree it would be nice to have a non-flexy person there so you can see if what you're doing is close. The only other thing I have an issue with is the speed she does things, I find it really hard to keep proper form!
Genbob, I agree about the hip flexors. I feel like this is where I am the least flexible and her video really does focus on that.
Great to hear as I am a runner so my hip flexors and hamstrings are super tight. I thought the speed was just me not being able to do as fast because I don't have her range if motion.

I do agree with her fast speed rate, at the beginning I could not understand the leg kicks when we are all on the floor on fours, but by the third time I got it. What I am having difficulty in believing are those kick backs while we are standing behind the chair. Any advice, I keep kicking back but my leg barely goes above my knee height. Lol. It would have been nice to see a non flexy person along as well, or maybe a little video at the woodlands bottom showing some advancement. But I still love the video. I have seen some great improvement though.
I really do not like ballistic drops I can not lay on my back and open and close my legs frantically really hate those ones so I skip them ... Lol but the rest of the DVD is good.

I also got this her DVD sometime in the latter part of last year and after trying to do it a few times a week, I ended up injuring my lower back! I was so sore and in so much pain, I found it hard to walk, sit and even lying down was slightly painful! I had to take a few days off work because of this and went to see my Physio for back pain treatment. After lending the DVD to my Physio to watch, she commented that the DVD is very advanced for someone starting out on flexibility training and questioned Cleo's medical and anatomy knowledge when it comes to gaining flexibility in a safe and effective manner. She told me that the warm-up was incredibly fast-paced and a bit intense and commented that the rest of the DVD followed the same style and was really ideal for someone with a very flexible range of motion like Cleo but not so ideal for someone just starting out. My Physio also pointed out that not much was explained in the video in terms of why the exercises would be effective to gain flexiness and that she can understand why I've injured my lower back due to trying to keep up with the fast-paced workout when I haven't been accustomed to this type of exercise in an ongoing basis. She told me to use it with caution as it's pretty advanced and may not be the most ideal unless you're already quite flexy. Since my lower back injury, I have not worked out to it since because I'm very wary now. Anyone else with a similar experience? I'm not sure whether to sell this or not.

I started the legs and abs 30 day challenge 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it so far! I guess I was used to the speed and the moves because they are pretty much an extended version of the Bobbis Pole Studio warm-ups. I can see why it would be easy to get injured if you hadn't done stuff like that before, poor Juicy J hope your back feels better soon! The only gripes I have are 1) In the front split section, there is a lot of focus on stretching your hip flexors but hardly anything on hamstrings. At that point I've just been pausing the DVD and PNF stretching my hamstrings with a yoga strap. Also, 2) the advanced leg holds are really hard to do without a pole haha!
I like the speed because I feel like it gets me warmed up. I am probably in the minority because I like the ballistic type stretches. they just work for my body. I feel like I know my body well enough to do those types of stretches. I warm up fast and I gradually increase my ballistic drops. I hold back slightly and build into it as I go. I agree that this may not be the best DVD for a beginner. I also do the alethea pure splits dvd, and there is no explanation there as well. I'm ok with these dvd's not having explanation, I get my info from other sources and use it to supplement the dvd's. If you're a non-flexy beginner these dvd's may not be for you. from what I've read, both of these dvd's really warn that they are not for educational purposes. take that to heart. they mean it. that being said, I love both dvd's and the variety of exercises I get from them. you really have to modify as a beginner though. don't kick as high. if you cant do the same speed, do the same exercise but at a slower speed. But I totally understand it is frustrating when you are not able to match what they are doing and you are not sure what it is even supposed to look like at a less advanced level. there really is a need for this type of instruction and I'm surprised no one has really taken advantage of it. it helps to know what the stretches look like for different levels.
