are chrome poles the most difficult to grip. i have been doing pole for about 6 months now and i just recently got a chrome pole and now i have noticed that i can't grip as well and i am getting frustrated because i feel that i can't do some of the same moves and my strength is leaving haha. i feel like i have to re learn everything is that normal?

Mine is slippy unless I am warm and the pole is warm; I have to climb spin and slide on it for 5-10 min before I do anything tricksy. I rub it hard with a muslin cloth soaked in 70% isopropyl alcohol very regularly as well. My test is, if I lay my cheek on it and it feels cool, it is not grippy enough and I need to warm it up more.
I used to heat my chrome pole up with a hair dryer, it worked like a charm! Now I have a tg xpole and the gripiness is no different :( considering buying the new pole heater off xpole.us!
I had the same problem and saw that chrome poles are the pole standard for competition and are the industry standard in most studios. Other folks seem to do fine on them so I realized it must have been me. The problem is not the pole but your legs! I am older and have dry skin but younger women can have dry skin as well. This is what works great for me: I sue a small quantity of Vaseline Total Moisture Body Lotion or Equate Absolute Moisture Dry Skin Lotion (they are non greasy glycerin based) on the inside of my legs where they will make contact with the pole. I warm up the pole a little bit and it works like a charm! This usually solves the problem. If I used a little too much lotion and slip then I apply a dab of alcohol. Once the skin moisture level works with the pole then I can pole for up to 2 hours without any problems. I found this tip online where someone else was having the same problem. Tacky skin always grips best! So for some that means they need grip aids, lotion, or to warm the pole and their body more thoroughly to create enough moisture on the skin to stick. Others slip from sweat! Cold poles and dry skin are a nightmare!!
