ceilings too low

okay I have just moved house, and my old ceilings were just 9 foot ithink, so it worked perfectly with my xpole, as the whole size of it, with the two extensions that come with it, is 9 foot (right?) however now my ceilings are much lower and trying to put my pole up doesnt even work even with only the shortest extension. is it okay to put it up using no extension at all and simply placing the little top thing onto pole b, and then putting the dome straight onto that? or is that dangerous?
