Can't tighten pole enough

Hey all, So I just got my first X- Pole!! I put it up, and things seemed to be great. But then one of my friends took a swing and the dome (it's an old-style pole) moved. I can't tighten the adjuster by hand any more than it already is, and the pole doesn't come with a spanner. Any tips?? Thanks!
