i have always been pretty confident at standing up for myself anyway but not long ago me and my husband were having a play fight and i got him in a leg lock and he couldnt get out of it lol he said i could kill a man with my thighs lol
I've always been kind of a weakling lol but I just got my pole on October 1st so I'll let you know in a few months.....maybe I'll pick a fight with someone to test out my strength lol just kidding

Physically, no. But then again i'm not a fighter and the only punch i've ever had to throw was in 1st grade {the boy deserved it}. My right arm is a beast though so i'm sure it has more strength behind it then it did prior to pole. lol. Emotionally though, very much so. I stood up to my parents about my hobby with strong convictions and i'm not a "shrinking violet" when people make comments about it. Its the power of passion, you'll fight to protect it.

Well... I probably could beat up some people if my aim wasn't poop.... Or if I could actually reach the person's face! I'm so short (4'9") so I'll probably end up canning someone or just punching them in the gut... Then again I'd probably miss lol!

Okay- I've always kind of been a fighter (only when neccessary- but i've never been afraid of stepping up for me or friends) My dad wanted me to channel it and get me into mma or kickboxing but he decided to make me the 3rd shift bouncer for his diner. I would man-handle full sized men, football players, crazy drunk chicks (2 or 3 at a time- they travel in gaggles lol), you name it. But I feel that if I were still bouncing- it would be a HELL of a lot easier. Pole is a full body workout. I have gained a substanial amount of muscle in my arms, legs, back and abs. So yeah, I think I could kick ass in a fight (*still* ;)

Ive always avoided confrontation... Ive never really been a knock drag down fight.. But I think i can fend for myself a little better than before due to the strength I have gained... I guess i can see myself cheating a little bit and grabbing a bar stool and smacking the shit of a hoe.... Might be vulgar, but if I were to ever get in a brawl I like to think it would clearly be brought on by the other person... Its hard to say because there are so many scenarios. Good thread though :)

@Beckypolegirl LOL my husband says the same thing. Once I latch on, there's no getting away...unless he tickles me. :P I can't honestly say that I've kicked any butt since starting pole, but I did start punching the crap out of a guy who grabbed my ass back in high school. My boyfriend pulled me off of him. :) Needless to say, he didn't try that again!!!
I have definitely gained a lot of confidence and have gotten into the face of a few jack offs that have touched me when I was on the pole. My husband is usually within a short distance and used to be ready to pounce. Now he kid of sits back and watches. On a funny side note, there was a post on FB a while back asking if you have gotten so trained that you point your toes during sex. My reply was that I did not take notice but I have had to be careful not to trap my husband's head between my thighs. I also no longer need a "man" to open jars for me.
Hehe. I do the pointy toe thing.. I had never hit anyone up untill recently. And old boyfriend actually. I was out with my girlfriends, and ran into him. Had'nt seen him in some years. He was very drunk and insiting. When he noticed I wasnt inerested in a conversation with him being drunk, he got agressive. I punched him to the floor before his fist had even come close to me. I was kind of nice to know that I could.. I must however say, that he had never hit me before. And today he doesnt even remember that I was the one who hit him.
I've always been an ass whooper. I fought alot of dudes as a kid and teen (I was picked on alot), so I got right to the point & punched a person the f out. I don't do any girl frilly fighting either-- pulling hair or scratching bs, I go right for the KO. I had a real anger problem and VERY short fuse for many years--like jump out of a driving vehicle to fight an asshole--yeah not a proud moment. However, as I've gotten older, I try and defuse fist fights (such a change from my younger days when I would fist fight in an instant) before things get crazy, but I will still throw down when talking it out doesn't work. Some people are just idiots and won't listen to reason and an ass whooping is the only way to shut them up and/or get them to stop messing with you. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. I have noticed that pole has made my inner thighs and legs incredibly strong though and so has my husband. The other day we were wrestling(being silly) and I got him in a headlock between my upper thighs and he couldn't get out of it. My husband is a big guy almost 6 feet and almost 300 pounds, so that surprised him and me both because usually he can pin me or get out of my arm holds very easily lol.
Sounds like a few of us have thighs of steel...or chrome...or brass!

my boyfriend and i play fight and wrestle all the time, he jokes around and tells ppl that i man handle him. He doesnt worry about me too much if im to travel by myself, i simple just flex my guns and say to him "they dont want none of this". ive always kinda been a tough chick though. i had to in order to fit in with my brothers since im the only girl. but me as an adult speaking, i dont go looking for fights, i dont put fuel on the fire if someone is being confrontational, but trust me if im feeling threatend or im put in a predicament where im obligated to defend myself, i feel as though thats the universes way of giving me permission to go ape shit lol. i even stronger being a pole dancer. and i assume by someone partaking in unwanted contact towards me, is their consent and i will take full advantage of that opportunity...and tear that a$$ up lol

Me and my boyfriend have this kind of game. Although, I guess it's only me that calls it a game because my boyfriend gets pissed, lol. My leg muscles are one of a kind, I guess. Whenever he tries to spread my legs, they are like glued together. He uses ALL his force and I just lie there laughing :D
lol my ex-bf was getting so piss at me for the thighs of steel, no way for him to get out. And he was challenging me once in a while just to be sure that he was still THE MAN lol. Haven't try wrestling with new bf yet but he already notice that i'm quite strong for a girl of my size. As for my everyday life being a pole dancer realy help me this summer when my youngest decide than he didn"t want to come back home. I had to grab his arms and get him to walk 10 minutes to get home with him trying to get away( really strong little boy). I was so happy to be a strong pole mama with death grip hands :P
