Can I just say...my husband rocks!

Before you read this, I want to make a disclaimer that I do not have a problem with strippers and stripping at all. I love going to strip clubs. But I am always having to differentiate pole dance from stripping because as soon as I say that I pole to my non-poling friends they automatically start going into the ...well you know how it goes. So anyway... This evening my hubby and kids went to visit an old friend of ours who recently moved to the area. We were hanging out in the kitchen chatting and sippin on some "Grown up"drinks when the subject of pole came up (as it always does around me). We were talking about my pole friends (you guys 😀 ) and the big party I was trying to organize that was canceled by the great blizzard of '09. One thing led to another and my friend says "What do you tell your kids when they ask about the the stripper pole in the spare room?". I said "First I tell them...." and before I could finish my husband said "It's not called a stripper pole, it's just a pole." I sat back in awe for a few seconds because when I first started pole, my man hated it. He called the classes I went to stripper school and even told me I was a bad influence on our daughters because I pole danced. And now here he is....months later, defending my chosen art to some of our closest friends. My friends hubby says, "Well you can tell them that, but what about when they see it in movies and they learn to associate it with stripping?". I said, "I can only show them what I do. They know that their mother is not a stripper. I'm a nurse who goes to work everyday to care for sick people. I come home and take them to soccer practice and football practice and gymnastics practice. And sometimes, I dance on a pole for excercise and fun." then my hubby says.... "We can't control or explain to them what happens in strip clubs or in other peoples home but they see their mom poling and they see her friends (one of whom is a man) and they know that there's more to it then what their friends may tell them or what they see in a movie." Are you serious???? Did he really just say that???? I am so proud. My husband is a beliver now. True my obession with that chrome beam drives him crazy and I know he wishes I would just get bored with it and put all that energy into him, but he has learned to accept it as something that I love and enjoy and that means so much to me that I want to cry right now as I write this 😀 . Reggie has gone from a poledance hater to allowing me to invite a dozen stranger (pole dancers) into my home for an impromtu pole jam (while the Dallas Cowboys were playing no less), he has allowed my male pole bff (Junglecat) to not only come over but sleep over whenever he wants and has even taken to considering him family. He's supported me entering and competeing in a competition where if I did advance 100's of people would be seeing me dance on a pole and he's ok with it. He's finally learned to put my happiness high up on the list of priorities and that right there my friends.....that's what makes relationships last. I'd give him whatever he wants right now if he asked me LOL. That's how happy I am. I just needed to share that. Now I shall go give him sexual favors to show my gratitude.....oh honeyyyyyyyy........ 😈
