Ive been poling for a little over 5 months now, and JUST started getting very calloused hands at the top of my palm, and everytime it gets close to healing, I pole and it rips off and is raw again. It's very painful. Should I just pole through it? Will my hands eventually get calloused enough where this won't happen?

Welcome to the wonderful world of pole! Callouses come with the territory and "ripping" can follow. Get a callous shaver and shave them down flat before they have a chance to rip. helps a lot. I used to get skin rips reallllly easily when I first started pole.

I use this Callous Eliminator gel from amazon. Then I let it sit for 5 minutes then use a callous shaver. haha I shave mine off when they are really bad. I try not to let them get to that point by using a glass nail file to keep them from splitting and becoming too bad. :)
This must be the ONLY benefit to having hypehydrosis. I only have minimal hand callouses after over 3 Years of poling :-)
I'm a bugger and pick at mine so they have never built up that much, also as others have said a shaver is fun to keep them down :-)
If the shaver scares you like it does me there is another opetion for keeping callases in check. At the end of a hot shower I use a pumice stone. This keeps them flat but still lets the callases form. A pumice stone is the way to go!
Does anyone deal with painful palms when your hands get "water logged" I have had to keep my showers short and literally hold my hands above water in hot tubs because my palms start to sting when they've been under water too long. I suspect ive just worn the skin on my palms down but i have never heard of anyone else complain about this issue so im wondering if im doing something wrong here, do i have wussy palms?? 😕

Calluses are also worse the more grip aid you use! They add friction and dry the skin so if your calluses are horrible and you're liberal with your grip aids think about dialing back if you're not interested in dealing with callus maintenance :)
@ dustbunny... wow... maybe thats why i dont have any callouses... i've been poling for about 3 years as well
