Buying a used X-Pole

Hi. I found a used brass 40mm X-Pole for sale for 600. The owner has had it for 5 years but she said it is hardly used and that she had paid 900 for it. A new one is around 790 inclusive of shipping and a 500mm extension which is what she has. I don't quite know if this is worth the price for a 5 year old, although hardly used pole. Surely some parts may have just corroded by just leaving it there? Can I have some opinion, if it's worth to get, what to look out for if I do get it? Thank you!
