Is getting a lot of bruises normal in the beginning or am I possibly doing it wrong?? 🤔 I've got bruises covering the inside of my arms, thighs, and on the tops of my feet. How long does it take to toughen up? DH is going to come home next month and wonder what in the world I"ve been doing 😂

It's totally normal. I love my bruises! You can usually tell what people are working on based on where the bruises are on their body. Honestly, your skin takes a couple of weeks to toughen up to certain moves (different for each people) BUT, your body will probably continue to get bruises with each new move you attempt. the only bruises that bug me/hurt me a lot, are the ones I get on the top of my feet from doing too many firemans or climbing.
I get bruises almost every practice (except when I'm really focusing on spins). Once you become really comfortable with a move you won't bruise as much. Like when I was just learning to invert a crucifix would leave my thighs all bruised up. Now I can just pop in and out of one without so much as a mark. Haha, honestly, I don't feel like I've had a challenging enough practice if I don't walk away with at least a couple new bruises 😛
Hehe, the only thing I've done up till now is spins...a lot of them have required a lot of failure for me to get! I get bruises even still (it's been a couple years, off and on), such as the giant one that mysteriously showed up on my knee, and the little one that showed up on the inner thigh. 🤔 I once even got a little line of spots down my hip from learning a move. I kinda liked it! 🐱
Quite normal. I don't know if they ever totally go away, they just lessen in time.

They will go away when you get better at a certain move and don't overgrip with your legs/bang them into the pole 🙂 I still get some but I don't really notice them tbh. And spins give you loads more bruises than tricks! Every single time I do an angel or a fireman I end up looking like a car crash victim lol.
Eventually, you'll be reading your bruises like they were tea leaves...."ahhhhh, in this one I see a failed superman attempt.....and this one is from one. too. many. side climbs........and this, this is from a reverse grab." 🥂 It does get better, as you get more sure of yourself and lean how to hold yourself on the pole. I promise!!!
Well then based on my tea leave bruises, I need to work on the crucifix with my left foot a bit more since my right foot is bruised more 😂 Good to know I'm working hard enough at least
