I'm looking at purchasing a pair of boots for poling in. I was thinking of these but not sure if the heel is too skinny. Curious to hear from others that pole in boots. My only concern with those boots is that if they do not hug the calf super tight they will fall down when you invert. I had a pair like that - that I gave away because they fell down. But if they fit your calf well then they are super grippy and great for pole work. I have a white pair of pleaser stiff tops that I love. Another pair in black that don't grip well and I just got a pair of thigh black patent leather stiff top boots - haven't poled in them yet but they should be pretty grippy.
I have the lace ankle boot on this heel (or very similar), it's really stable. Just remember to walk on your tip toes and use the heel for balance. There is an electra boot, which is a lace up. That may be better if you have a smaller diameter calf. Any good boot or shoe repairer can take the seams in, the trick is to find a very good one. I'd go into a really fancy and expensive shoe shop and ask who they use to do repairs. It's likely to be a good provider as they won't want to lose reputation.

^^ I had no idea you could have the seams taken in! I bought the boots then gave them away because they didn't fit right =( I LOVE the grippiness of boots like that and have always been jelous of friends who could find them and get them to fit right! I went for stiff tops after which are great but like I said my black pair fights against me lol! 😂
I had no idea you could have seams taken in either! I have super skinny chicken legs and can never wear calf high boots because they're always too big. Wow! This opens so many doors. LOL

I HAVE THOSE BOOTS..in purple of course! The heel is fine for dancing in, because it has a nice flat bottom, on the main ball of the foot part. The grip is fantastic, makes climbs super easy, just remember if your wearing sticky boots then there is always the chance you could get stuck on a move. I have had that happen going into the superman and almost did a face plant! 😂 I too suffer from chicken leg *braawck* these boots are a tiny bit loose, tiny and almost all boots are loose on me, I wear long socks under and then they stay up fine.

Thanks for the feedback. Veena did you find the size of the boot matched what you normally wear or did you have to buy it in a smaller or larger size for a good fit?

I'm lucky enough to have a shoe smith in the next town over from me that does fabulous work on anything you can bring in 🙂 As for boot sizes, anything from Pleaser (or any dancing heels or boots in generally actually!) I usually buy a full size down from my street shoe size or else I find its so loose my foot just slides forward. Its always best to try them on though of course. Maybe a store near you carries Pleasers so you can find your size in what they have, then order what you want online?

I ordered a size up from what I normally get in dance shoes. I wear a 7 1/2 in street shoes, but all of my heels are 7 because they don't have half sizes. I order these boot in an 8 and think I should have gone with the 7. I ordered mine off of Amazon. All of my dance shoes have stretched a bit so thats why I go with a size down...if they had a half size it would be perfect.
