Body Products

I was showering after a pole workout yesterday and realized I'm almost out of body wash. This particular one was a lemon/coconut from Victoria's Secret. I love the way it smells. Kind of tropical and fresh. However, I used to have one that was more of a sensual scent and my husband always noticed when I used that one. I'd like to find some more quality body products along those lines. Kind of the "sexy woman" smell. Does that make sense? What are some of your favorite body products? Also as a side note: Does anyone use the IMAGE skincare line face products??

Ooh, talk of body products! I am a HUGE fan of Lush- everything they make is basically gold to me, I love it. However, they do put out a lot of stuff that is very sweet-scented, and it can be too much for me. I love my sugar, but when I'm covered in the smell, suddenly I just can't anymore. So, their Dirty product line has been excellent for me. The scent is soft, sometimes minty. I use the hair cream (excellent for curly hair, it's literally the only product I use), the shaving cream (I go through it really quickly, though, and it can be expensive- smells good!), and their body wash (spearmint! I love it!!). Other Lush products are things like their face wash, Ultrabland, which smells like nothing and makes my skin happier than it has EVER been. But, the most important of all of these... two products: Turkish Delight, which is a soap-thing (more like a whipped cream) that's basically the greatest smell in the whole world, and Ro's Argan, which is what I use to moisturize and comes a close second to the smell of Turkish. Lush is also the most expensive I've ever used for products like this- things are expensive, so I tend to look for cheap and effective. Seriously, with no Lush, I use the Walmart Special body wash, and just try to get along. I have definitely been spoiled by them. Have you figured out what the scent was that your husband likes so much?

As far as body wash goes, I'm a huge fan of Philosophy. Their stuff smells incredible! So many different scents. And all the bottles have a recipe to make the real (edible or drinkable) thing too :) I also like Lush. It's a Canadian company, not sure if it's available out of Canada (except maybe online but then you don't get to smell first). My biggest complaint with Lush is that they have the most offensively aggressive staff - basically you can't just browse without being bothered, even if you say you're just looking around. They will put stuff on your hands without asking first, continue to follow you trying to suggest products... whatever they can do. I appreciate that they are super nice and they seem to really believe in their products, but I like to only be assisted when I specifically ask for it.

I should also add: I worked in retail for years. So I'm not just being overly sensitive to this issue. I know they have to greet the customers and try to make a sale, but it's way too much at Lush! The same at just about every Lush store I've ever been to!

I know that Lush has a lot of presence in the UK as well, and I'm not totally sure about the US... I think there are some stores. I would HATE to have all that happen to me as a customer! Ugh! The staff in town here are really nice, they ask and then if you don't want them to bother you, they leave you alone. No inappropriate touching, no following. They're all super happy, super friendly, and I love going in there to chat with the people I know there. They often offer me hand massages and stuff, which I am perfectly free to decline. I'm sorry to hear that your local store is so... pushy :/ I'd probably get really upset if they started putting things on my hands without permission. Touching is a big boundary for me, when it comes to strangers.

I wish it was only my local store. It seems to have been at every Lush store I've ever been to. Two in the Toronto area and even once when I was visiting Vancouver. So now I try to limit my visits to when I'm in a good enough mood to tolerate that, and I have a specific item in mind (or a specific question that I can ask them so they have a task to do haha)

Hubby liked the "Very Sexy, Touch and Dare". Touch was my bodywash and Dare was my evening perfume if we were going out. They don't make the Touch anymore :( I'll have to look up Lush products online. True that I won't be able to smell them first though... My biggest problem is I have a hard time with smells. Weird that I want scented body wash eh? That's why I loved my VS body wash because it smelled amazing but didn't give me a headache. I can't use any tester lotions or products at Bath and Body works (odd since they are the sister company to VS). Shopping for fragrances is often overwhelming for me because after a few sniffs of some obnoxious ones I just can't take anymore. I really really don't do sweet or vanilla scents. Hoping I can get some ideas of what to look for and what to just skip over. Thanks guys for the imput, keep it coming.

I know how you feel when it comes to scents; I'm allergic to perfume, it makes me immediately ill to smell, and if it doesn't pass quickly, I'll end up near passing out. I've not yet lost full consciousness, but it's pretty clear that it IS the perfume, because it happens immediately when I smell it... and passes as soon as I don't. For Lush products, if you're wanting to avoid super-sweet smells, I'd say go for anything in the Dirty product line. And, often they have descriptions about the smells and stuff. If all else fails, you can always ask me to go smell something for you, and I'll report back ;) hehe
