Best feeling?

I recently started teaching more advanced classes at my studio (I was just doing intro), and I recently got a girl into the machine gun. This sounds cheesy, but I feel like I was happier for her than I was when I got the move. I felt so proud. It's almost like I understood the move on a new level when I could break it down for someone else. So here's my question. What's the best feeling in your pole world? Getting a new move/meeting your personal goal, teaching a new move to advanced students, getting new students hooked and excited, or winning competitions?

Well I've never been in a competition but the others three i have done. I tend to get more excited when I can help someone do a move. Not that I'm not proud or excited when I get a move or get someone hooked but I feel the best when I help someone. It could be something as simple (although to beginner this is not simple) as getting into a handstand, walking it in and getting legs placed properly for inverted crucifix!! For the past 7 weeks (once a week), I have been teaching about 6 women from my adult jazz class, they were all pole newbies when they started. Each week they are feeling themselves gaining strength and confidence, I can see it too!! I love it. It makes me feel so good to help someone with something they themselves never thought they could do. Then we pushed past that point, most are holding inverted crucifix even if for a few seconds. I am sad to stop this class with these ladies but will also be happy to start dancing jazz with them again. Most are so excited and happy with the workout and challenge, they want to keep it going at least twice a month during jazz. Ahhhh, the feeling of helping someone get a move is like watching your baby walk for the first time :))))) pole babies growing into strong, confident, fit women one class at a time.

Hehe, love this thread! For me, I am only a pole student at the moment - no comps, teaching or shows yet. Maybe when I'm good enough. 😉 BUT I have to say, being in a pole class and working on a dream move for ages and that moment when you NAIL the move and your instructor is there to witness the moment! It's like a rush of adrenaline and when you do come off the pole, you wanna go give your instructor a BIG HUG! I still remember when I nailed my first Extended Butterfly, Twisted Grip Ayesha/Static V (this one still escapes me - I lose it very easily and I wasn't able to hold it last time I practiced. It all makes sense in my head and in theory what I have to do but for some reason I can't seem to balance or hold it when I am in it), and Jade Splits... I felt like the Happiest Girl In The World! 🙂🥂 I look forward to more of these pole moments! At the same time, I can also see how much JOY you ladies get when you are instructing and someone nails a move due to your explanations and demonstrations. It also reflects well on your teaching method and also the student is likely to talk about it to others too!

I LOVE when a woman comes into her own...when she embraces everything about herself, her curves, and is comfortable in her own skin. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a woman walk into my class unsure of herself and then 2-8 months later its like BOOM!!! She is just in love with herself. You can see it thru something easy as a fireman spin, something advanced or even a hair flip. Knowing that I helped increase someone's confidence level and they leave my classes walking a little taller fills my heart with joy. I never get tired of it :)
