Hey Veena! I saw you do some bellydance moves in a video a while back, and it was amazing! Could you do a series of bellydance lessons sometime? I think everyone would just love it, and it would definitely add some extra spice to our pole routines. 😀

Thank you! I can do some belly dance but I was told by many belly dancers that I suck so I don't think you want me teaching that yet!! Maybe if I get a change to learn more. Its a fun idea though 🥂
Yes!! Actually the 2 forms of dance that I really want to do are poledance and bellydance haha, that would be perfect if you could get them both here!

Mora, until then, I suggest checking out http://www.worlddancenewyork.com and http://www.cheekygirlsproductions.com for inexpensive but comprehensive bellydance lessons. The issue with bellydance is that there are many styles that originated in different parts of the world, each with their own cultural history. The dance itself can be very complex while appearing to be simple and some students take it quite seriously - so if you ever come across a snobby bellydancer, just ignore it, and know that it's just that they take pride in the culture that goes along with it. I am self taught through mostly World Dance New York productions which are amazingly full of information for the price. There is also IAMED productions at http://www.bellydance.org but they are pricier, though their teacher's dance styles (Sadie, Kaya, Ansuya) may also suit you if you intend to mix bellydance with poledance. In addition, I and many others first started out with the Bellytwins, Veena and Neena who have a three dvd set out and their style is a basic Egyptian-American blend which has been referred to by some as 'Disney-esque.' I love information haha don't worry about that! Yeah there are a few places round where I live but it's hard to choose a style. I thought it'd be a really good workout because, as you said, it's really quite complex - my hip and stomach muscles could do with a proper bellydance ha. I'm not sure why but I totally missed Veena's post above mine when I wrote it 🤔
