Hi everyone! My name is Aimee! I have never pole danced, but I would absolutely love to start. The closest studio is over 2 hours from where I live, making studio classes tough. Would you guys recommend the X Pole for at home lessons? And what tips do you all have for a beginner? Thanks!

Hello and Welcome! I am an at home poler and I have never taken a studio class. I have an xpole at home and love it!! It is the xpert, so it can be on spin or static. There are a ton of resources for those of us who learn to pole at home and Studio Veena is definitely one of the best resources. You can also find a ton of videos on youtube. The best thing you can do when you first get your pole is to start strength and conditioning. Veena has some great videos to start with that process. Pole is awesome and the best journey I have ever been on. Finally working out is no longer work...it is so much fun. This site is extremely supportive and all of the polers are amazing people. Hi Aimee. Welcome to StudioVeena. You've landed in the most supportive online pole dancing community on earth. I am a at home poler and studio instructor (beginner level of course). All of the poles I use are 45mm chrome xpole xperts, even the one in my living room and I love them. You definitely want to spend money on a good quality pole. Xpole is great for all levels. I've heard that the lil minx poles are great too, but I like the fact that you don't have to drill a hole in the ceiling with the xpole poles. As tips for beginners, I'd say, start with strength and a little flexibility exercises before trying anything too crazy. Veena's conditioning lessons are awesome and you will avoid injuries if you do those first. My second tip is, don't compare yourself to other polers. You are probably going to watch tons of videos where people do some amazing things that look relatively easy but when you get to your pole you may find that those things are not so easy (or maybe you'll be one of the few lucky ones who can do everything before their 3rd try, who knows right?). But as you have probably read, pole is a journey. I didn't understand this concept myself until I started walking the path myself. With pole you'll discover that you can be much stronger than you ever imagined, you'll see that you are the most graceful woman you have been. You will discover that your body is an amazing miracle that responds to all of your demands as long as you work for them. My last tip is, enjoy yourself. It's going to hurt, but enjoy every minute of your journey. You are worth it

Thanks for the encouraging words everyone! I'm excited to start conditioning. This year is a year that I'm making all about me. And building a more healthy and beautiful me. And i think pole dancing could help so much with my goal to work out and with my self esteem. Now my biggest obstacle... convincing my bf to let me have his game room for my pole. Hahaha.
