Basil pesto chicken...

ok... we have a recipe for this awesome chicken... but I'm not sure if the pesto sauce is very good for us...I thought that herbs/spices were safe/safer, but i'm not sure. Its used as a marinade for grilled chicken, but I was thinking about using it as more flavor on a sandwich. Its a lot like the stuff you dip your bread in at italian restaurants. There is this type of bread that is flat (not flatbread...looks more like a small hamburger bun but its flat) that I was planning on putting a little of the pesto on with fat free turkey, sprouts and maybe tomatos. The pesto is an awesome recipe...please let me know if this is good to use or not... and if it is then feel free to try it! Basil Pesto : 1/2 cup fresh basil , or 1/4 cup dried 3 cloves garlic 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper just enough extra virgin olive oil to make a paste -put in food processor until pastey =) (also good for tossing grilled green beans in with cherry tomatoes!...just add a tad of lemon juice and more olive oil to be able to baste it on the beans)
