Hi y'all! Well, i'm not sure if i pulled a muscle, but I invert from my left side, and for the past week it's been hurting around my left shoulder blade. Has this happened to anybody? Pain in back/shoulder blade from the side that they invert on ? Any tips or ideas as to prevent this type of injury? Thanks!!

Make sure when you invert that you keeps your shoulders down and back, engage your abs and don't jump into the invert, try just lifting your legs up to the pole. When I first started doing the open straddle move I always had the same pain and it was because I wasn't strong enough yet for the move and had incorrect posture.

Ditto to what Jeng said about keeping shoulders back and down. I did the exact same thing practicing my chopper (same move Jeng said, different name???) and Veena met me in chat one day to show me the right way to do it, as well as some strengthening exercises that target your shoulder blades and the back in that area. For the strength training, look up Veena's video on shoulder strengthening exercises (it's on YouTube and here). She has a thing called ITYs or TIYs or something like that. (the letters refer to the position of your arms) But watch that video, then do what she says for the T position, except hold your arms further back and it'll target more your shoulder blades and such than what the exercise is originally meant for. That's what Veena told me to do. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the advice! I just looked up Veena's back stretching/strengthening videos on Youtube and they were helpful! Hopefully this pain will go away soon....i really want to practice again 😢

Take care of your injury I hope your feeling better by now but..if it is still hurting even when at rest be sure to..Rest it, Ice it and you could gently stretch it only after warming up.
