I've just moved to a new flat and the living space where I'm going to be putting up my pole is an attic ceiling, any advice as there are no areas of the ceiling that are flat but there are joists. Anyone know if I'm able to use the beam joists?

Joists/beams are what you have to use anyway, so that's perfect!!
Check out @sassybeerjte on Instagram she has hers in an attic room on a beam and does all sorts of tricks. She also has silks and an aerial hoop I believe. Go for it! I read in one of the discussions that a girl with a completely angled ceiling had hers in a doorway - when there's a pole there's a way (= Happy Poling!
Thank you so much both! The doorway is a fantastic idea because my ceiling is the same. With the joists/beams they're open.. Kinda like a farm house/old cottage kinda thing if you get me and I think the top of my pole is too wide to be stable on one of those

Correction it's @sassybeertje but looking at it now she has a flat joist and a lil Mynx pole. Can you get it on a beam? I think it would be more convenient than a doorway unless you have a nice sized door.

You could also screw a chunk of plywood across a few joists to give yourself a larger surface to work with. I would cross 3 joists, personally, and then put the pole up centered over the middle joist. If the joists are angled, you could use the plywood as a base for a vaulted ceiling mount. If they're flat, you could just mount the pole normally. Good luck!
