Anyone who travelled to Australia?

I know it's still a little vague. But I am currently applying for a work holiday visa to come from Canada to Australia. It's been a dream of mine for a long long time and finally decided to go for it. Since I don't know much about Australia, my destination is South Port mainly because it sounds like an amazing beach town. But i wanted to ask you pollers has anyone done this before? has suggestions? I am hoping to be there around December (hopefully if things work out) Would love to hear opinions Happy Polling :)

Not sure if you mean Southport in Queensland (on the Gold Coast)? If so, I live about a 5 minute drive from it, in Surfers Paradise. I could give you some info about it, if this is where you are headed. Either way, good luck with your travels, I'm sure you'll have heaps of fun! :)

I'm from Australia, from Brisbane (been in the UK 5 years now) and miss it everyday! You'll have a ball. It's incredibly expensive these days so I would say go wherever you can find a job... although Southport may seem amazing, there's hundreds of amazing beach towns on the coastline and if you don't have a particular reason to be in one place (like friends/job/amazing pole studio lol) I would travel around and see which grabs your fancy :)

suzanne here in NZ. I'm form the US, lived in OZ years ago and live in NZ and US now. There is the Aussie summer pole camp on the 25th October. I was going to go but decided I didnt want to go alone. It's not well advertised (can only take so many), but there could possibly be spots left ..... maybe! It sounds amazing. Brisbane is awesome and the transport (rail and bus) is easy and will take you everywhere.
