Iv pre ordered my 45mm chrome XPert - the new bottom loading X-Pole 😀 and I'm wondering if anyone has it yet? and what its like etc? 😀 can't wait!! Louise x

Hey I got my Xpert chrome 50mm this morning. It's great. Had a couple problems with it and called xpole, but once I take it down and put it up again, it should be okay. I'm not really familiar with the old xpoles, but I think assembling the Xjoints take a bit of getting used to! Anything else you need to know? (When you get it make sure the joint/screwy bit just obove the spinny screws is screwed on properly. When i span anticlockwise, my pole spun a bit (in static mode). Apparently it's because this bit wasn't tight enough, something that should be done when its being packaged, but isn't.)

I got 5 titanium Xpert for my fitness studio, and i am not sure to like them... I found it a little bit complicated to understand how to put the joint all together ( when are they going to do the dvd 🙁 ), i tighten the dome to the ceiling as much as i could, but because you are doing it only with your hands (not with a stick or a tool like the old version)you never really know when it is tighten enought... My ceiling is a 3m20, so it is very high. I havent noticed a better stability comparing to the old one... Also the base of the Xpert is smaller than the base of an old X pole, and to me it doenst help the pole the be more stable! Except these points, i like the fact that you don't need any ladder to erect it. And that they have been working on an optionnal ceiling fixing piece, which would work with any high ceiling or vaulted ceiling. About the poling part, they is no different at all comparing my old xpoles... I hope my comment help...

Actually I would agree that it's hard to know when to stop tightening (or loosening?) the pole to the ceiling. I just tightened it until it was stable, but then my boyfriend jumped on it and it wasn't so stable anymore! Seems to be okay now. Fingers crossed. By the way, is there a rule of thumb as to when you know the pole has been tightened enough?

To be honest, i'm not sure exactly how to say it, but it's not involving the the spinning/static screws as it moved even though they were totally tight. It's between the A pole and the base bit, yeah. I can try post a pic if you want, but you probably know what i mean, or at least you will! So if you make sure its really tight before you put it up, will save you having to do it again 🙂 You probably would have known that anyway, but i'm totally new to poles so I didn't 🙂

When i say 'flats' I mean the two flat parts of metal on the base shaft where when in static - the two spinning/insert screws are on these two flat sections in order to keep the pole static. If you could post a pic, that would be great 🙂 I have the instruction manual for the xpert so i keep reading it just to make sure I am familiar with x pert parts when assembling it. Im going to get use to the XJoints before putting it up so I am completely sure on what Im doing lol. 😀

I know what you mean about the flats, they told me that iver the phone and that was all okay so it's not that I don't think. I'm about to take it down to i'll try get a pic before I do, and put it up later on 🙂

(Those pics are exactly the same btw, it's not spot the difference, lol, dont know why 2 uploaded!) oohhhhh i seeee lol! the microbase looks great. i hated the big base on the old xpole. is it still as big or alot smaller? yeah that happened to me with the old x pole. i hadnt tightened it enough and it was spinning in static. so i went up the ladders and tightened it and it didnt do it lol. so what is the xpert like then? do you prefer it to the old x pole ? cant remember whether you said you had a 50mm or 45mm? im excited to get mine lol i havent poled in around a month lol its killing me 🙁 haha

This is my first pole, so I can't really compare it to any others, sorry! Although as far as I know they deliberately made the base a lot smaller. I got the 50mm. I noticed rust on the inside of the pole while taking it down yesterday, is that normal do you know? Have to try put it up by myself today.. that's gonna be fun 😛

I love the new look of the smaller base. It's totally normal rust being on the inside. On the older x-poles, there was rust a little too inside the tubes. Just don't leave your pole in a shed or in a car boot - anywhere where it can get really cold and damp. If you normally take your pole down alot, I'd place it underneath your bed or something like that. That way its very unlikely for it to get rusty. Be careful when you try and put it up by yourself, in the instruction manual it says its mandatory that 2 people min assemble the xpert. this made me think that the xpert is alot heavier than the old x-pole - it might be it might not be, but when i use to assemble the old xpole - i use to do that on my own too and that was heavy lol.

Oh yeah I saw where it said it's mandatory, I thought that was kind of funny... very authoritive! I thought that was just the first time you assemble it, like to figure out how to do it. Anyway I managed to put it up myself, yeah it was pretty heavy, but it was actually easy enough to do. Although i spent ages twisting the pole, trying to make it longer, after about 5 mins, I was wondering why it was taking so long... then I went down to the bottom, realised I had left it in spinning mode! So I was there turning the pole for no reason!! Haha that was funny... classic amateur mistake!

So do you just assemble the pieces on the floor then lift it up to the ceiling? also, you get two 200mm x-joints aswell as a 180mm xjoint, do you use the 200mm to connect A and B pole together? im a little confused haha!

I was king of stuck because my ceiling is within the 125mm extension height bracket, but when we put it up, the adjuster screw was just over 5 inches, but the bigger extension wouldn't fit! So I called them and they said up to 6 inches is okay, they just leave extra safety margin. Oh and sorry the 200mm x joint is used to connect a and b poles and also to connect the bigger extension if you need it.

Im dying to pole lol. oh right great thats the same as me then, i use the 125mm extension too. did you have trouble with the adjuster cover at all? as they say that can get cross threaded? as its screw threaded the adjuster cover as on the old x pole the adjuster cover wasnt threaded.

Oh, how did the old adjuster cover stay on then? I have to say I haven't had any problems at all with it. Only that a couple of times I forgot to tighten it fully and it rattled when i hit off it, but it seems fine to me so far. My X joints look a bit rounded though, which is bad. I'm afraid I may have done it when I first put it up, as it's quite difficult to get the hex key all the way into the x joints to tighten them. Sorry i'm probably totally confusing you!
I received my Xpert a couple days ago, this is my first pole so cannot really compare but so far so good. Bonus side is that it is bottom loading which for me is great as I can put it up without a second body. I did have problems releasing the x joints though as they were extremely tight and I could not loosen the screws with the hex key. Ended up having to take it to a locksmiths, even they found it difficult and notice the screws were in the early stages of rusting but with a bit of vaseline and a mini science lesson 😉 they managed to sort it out for me 🙂

The locksmiths had to take the xjoints a part and dabbed a very small amount of vaseline on all the screws and on the thread of the joints, that then made the screws much more smoother and easier for me to undo/tighten. The humidty was the reason why the screws near enough bone dry - in turn making it diffcult to release with the hex key. So I wouldn't be surprised if anyone else in the UK has the same problem with the weather being very cold.

Oh right, maybe i'll try that next time I take it down. Yeah, the first time I put it up the bit between the A nd B poles got twisted, obviously because I hadn't tightened them enough, because I physically couldn't! Gave it a bit more elbowgrease this time and seemed to do the trick! 🙂

Hi again! 🙂 I put 5 X pert so far in my new studio, and we did have a problem with 2 of them! The X joint wouldnt get tight! I find the X joint screws a bit cheap! Them look like hard plastic, and i am affraid that we damaged 2 of the joins trying to tighten them. Now 2 of my tubes doesnt stay together! And when i try to tighten the joins, it is like if i was screwing in the wind, I can't feel that i am tightening the joins... So all my pole are tighten and well stick on the ceiling, but for two of them they are not that strong when i am shaking them, because 1 of the join is not tighten (because i can't manage to tighten them)...Note that my ceiling are 3m30!!! :/ I am not sure that you will understand what i am saying, but at least i tried! lol I would post a picture if not 🙂 Thank you Jenny

I think I understand, as I know what you mean about the joints not tightening. I have a much smaller ceiling though, so i'm not sure it is as much of an issue. I'm just going to try to leave mine up as often as possible so avoid damaging the joints. I'm sure Xpole will replace yours for you if you think they're faulty.
