I'm practicing my spins and wraparounds and I just wondered if anyone ever flew off their pole? I'm getting pretty close to it at times...

Oh yeah I have" launched" many times while doing reverse grabs. lol Also nearly flew off when I uses spin mode for the first time! Here is an old bloopers vid that's kinda funny NOTE; ( I do not recommend kicking into the twisted grip like I was! That's naughty,😈 but everyone was doin it. LOL 🙊

Yes i did, i have fly head first in my mini christmas tree, you can look at my december challenge and have a good laugh😀
LOL----YES!! Reverse grab......flew off.....literally bounced on my butt across the floor....Thought my friend was going to die laughing! That is one I wish I had on video.......... bounced 3 times and came to a grinding halt................WAY too funny!!!
was once on spin and my instructor told me to let go w one hand. which in my mind apparently meant let the legs go too. i dropped right off the pole. ouchie!!! lol. i think it happens to all of us at one time or another. @veena it was kinda nice to see ur progression. will def give me inspiration when i get frustrated!!! thanks for sharing!!!
1st time on spinny...reverse grab - flew off and slammed into wall clocked my head pretty bad LOL... 2nd time on spinny - hung over, sushi the night before and upside down...NOT PRETTY!!! Remember that scene in The Excorcist when her head spins around and she is puking...yeah well now imagine that on a spinning pole... 🤮🤮🤮 Stayed off spinny for a LONG time after that!
Oh yeah! I have launched myself on both static and spin.

I mostly end up airborn from botched invert attempts lol. usally the verbage goes....I got it I got it wait I'm losing it no no no no agggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh plop. &#*(#)@)@*(@*)#)#*(!!!!!!!!!
Not really flying off but I did fall from a shoulder mount. Lost my grip and caught myself an inch before the floor. Thank God. I'm still traumatized. Fell again from a cartwheel mount. Did a full rotation and BAM. Hit my head and bicep hard. 3 weeks later, I couldn't lift my arm past my waist. Painful. I know I fell another time but forgot what it was from. Suffice to say, I have a real hard time trusting spotters now.
Yaknow, that shoulder mount fall could look pretty cool if you did it on purpose! ;) I have crashed in a fiery heap from straightedge but never have launched myself from the pole (watch, I just jinxed myself lol).
Your replies are hilarious! I am watching the blooper video, I'm laughing so hard (I think the broken lollipop is my fave). Still have to see the december challenge with the christmas tree collision. In addition to the pole launch, I find myself accidently kicking my dogs who try to sit by the pole to hang out with me, I kicked a pouffe across the room when spinning and once I was really getting into a song when my neighbor came too close to the window and I ran away screaming in the middle of a sexy gyration (wearing very sexy lingerie). And I'm very often stuck in a position talking to myself "wait-no, I don't think this is it...and I'm stuck". And I find it endlessly amusing to dance like an idiot when my moves don't work out.
oh lets not talk about stuck. Thigh High boots. enough said. sqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk drop an inch sssssqqqqqqqeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkkk drop an inch.....repeat for the height of a 12ft pole.
OMG!!! This thread is killing me with laughter!!! LUV it!!! I hear ya on the boots squeeeeek.... Mine(not thigh highs--knee highs) get stuck all the time!! Defintely not sexy sounds......:D
yeah it was because of those boots I tried a shoulder dismount for the first time, a failed attempt I might add.
tiggertail- I'm laughing right because I just saw your december challenge! It was so cute! I love the background. Impressive pole dismount, lol! Ok-I think I'm just going to start posting my videos even if I moonwalk around the pole and do my quasimodo dance sometimes. This inspired me!

polergirl I did the same but from an elbow grip straight edge v attempt, lost my balance and fell right backwards and down! I thought it was going to be a very painful/dangerous fall, I remember thinking that at the point where I was falling back, but I ended up sitting on my butt and there was no pain, winding or any ill effect... suffice to say I am a bit more careful now lol
Good thing it was a "good" fall for you, Shellectra! I did the same--was trying to go from an embow grip straight edge to an arch--and fell about 6' onto my back. Almost blacked out. That was probably 6 months ago, and only in the past month has everything felt like it's back in the correct alignment!
omg akkis!! i must have been lucky!! i remember landing on my butt (in a sitting position with knees bent and my arms still above my head) maybe my hands stayed attached to the pole longer than I thought and eased the fall impact!
This is a great thread and thanks Veena for the video. I watch too many you tube videos of everyones amazing things and it makes you start to feel a bit ho hum - a great reminder from you that everyone makes mistakes! I was doing a spinning move on a static pole that all of a sudden lost it's static and went into spin mode and launched me seriously onto my backside a couple of metres away. Bruised bottom and pride, but no long term damage!
Not really a launch, but yesterday I did the advanced plank for the first time and while I rejoiced I failed to think of a way out and fell on my bum. Not that high up though so no harm done. Then I tried the star again and it went well until I started to revolve and spun out of my hand grip and crashed hard. I expected bruises from that one but haven't found any.
Trying to take my hand off in the rockstar spin... did a 3 bounce landing across the floor on my booty. Thank goodness for the padding!
