Amateur Night post event recap!!!

Soooooooooo I just walked in from the amateur night contest. Looking back I'm glad I did it, it was nerve wracking but a lot of fun. I'll start from the beginning... I got to the club and filled out an application, the girl working the front said she wasn't even sure if they were going to have an amateur night because no one else was there. This concerned me a bit since I had psyched myself up for it but when I called the club they said to get there at 9pm and when I got there the woman who checked me in said the contest didn't even start until 11. I had already paid to valet my car so I figured I should stay. Two friends of mine showed up though so once they got there they kept me company and the time went by a lot faster. When it was time to go get ready they brought us all into the bathroom and 7 other girls ended up showing up by that point so the contest was on. Out of the 8 of us, a lot of girls had danced before and I found out two of the girls that had come together had been dancing for a long time and just quit their jobs at another club the week before and one of them had danced at this club when it first opened! That kind of made me mad because I feel like amateur night should be for girls that haven't danced before but I wasn't the one making the rules... I initially brought a tank top and skirt to wear but then I realized all the other girls were going out in lingerie or bikinis so I didn't even end up wearing them. I had to sit around for quite a while waiting to go on and then they sat the eight of us at a table by the stage and one of the other dancers emceed the contest. The first girl to go was one of the dancers so that made me feel better because I did NOT want to go first. I ended up going 6th or 7th which was nice because I didn't want to be last either. So my turn finally comes, I get onstage, THE POLE WAS SO SLIPPERY. I tried to climb it and couldn't even get to the top because it was pretty slick but I got most of the way up. The stage was…

Glitter, I'm so proud of you. I know you looked awesome and you stole the show. Keep up the good work. You are very brave and an awesome dancer. You will find a good club soon enough.

Ooh I almost missed this post! I'm glad you did a recap, maybe this can be my official "amateur night" thread since I've done a few now haha!!!! I think Joel summed it all up better than I even could....the two sisters were really amazing on the pole. At one point one of them was swinging around on the ceiling beams, it was quite intense! One thing that did happen to me that was kind of strange/exciting was that they had all the "amateurs" corralled into this cabana area where I waited last time except this time they had a pole in there so all of us that could pole took some turns doing tricks. Not to be haughty but I think my pole skills were on par with the rest of the dancers and a lot of them had been dancing for a while. I had really heavy knee length boots on and the pole was a 50 and I use a 45 so I was a little nervous about doing any tricks in case I missed them and looked stupid....but I nailed EVERY TRICK! It was soooo weird! One girl tried to do a shoulder mount and missed...so then I stepped up to do one assuming I would miss it too because I only get them about half the time I try and NEVER with shoes on...and I did it on the 50 pole with the million pound boots on too! Then I did a bodywave and I even taught another girl how to do superman...it was just insane. I think it must have been reverse performance anxiety or something because I did way better than I do when I'm at home practicing by myself!

That's awesome glitter!!! Sometimes having an audience really gets you pumped up and you can do more than usual. In fact, psychology classes will tell you that if you are not good at something (or rather if you do not feel that you are good at it) you will do worse with an audience. BUT if it is a skill you excell at, you will do better with an audience! Well done! Joel, how cool that you two got to meet!!!

Awesome job, Glitter! We're all so proud of you! One of these days you'll win for sure! Keep at it! And Joel, your entire post had me laughing... no offense! As nervous as you claimed to be, you had no shame in giving such a detailed account of the whole night. 😜 Sascha and I are going to one next month... keeping my fingers crossed she wins! (I'm sure she will, Sascha's awesome!)

Glitter I'm so proud of you, thats great that you were able to show some pros how its done! That sound like such a strange way to do an Amateur night. 🤔 Joel, your so funny, I'm glad you and your wife can talk about these things and I hope she isn't too annoyed with you. 😂 Chris and I went to our first strip club together and we felt wonderfully naughty about it! That's crazy that the lap dance girl knew about studioveena and bertysbooboo!!

Hey Glitter, glad to read about your experience. I want to do an A night next month. But here you are encouraged to get naked ifyou want to win! You don't have too but... I probably will jsut stay in a gstring or thong. You did sound like you were the winner, go girl! And the girls don't really go on stage. People pay $20 to be a judge and so you would have to dance on them, or infront them to be judged and they would rate you.

OMG Glitter! I thought all girls knew how amateur night went!!! They are really try outs for potential workers. lol, some girls who come to clubs w/ their man decide to go on stage for fun too sometimes or to prove that they are sexy, but amateur night is for dancers really. Sometimes they even get a regular working girl from the club for you to go against. Glad you had fun!!! BTW, those poles are slippery b/c they are a diff. metal. They don't call x-pole and set it up...lol...they call a contractor and for a 22 ft pole, it's about 500.00. They put it in permanently but it's slippier. Always ask where the spray bottle w/ alcohol is before you go on. I don't know how girls decide to slick on baby oil, but they do...so those things can be dangerous. Also, you are kinda on their turf, so be nice to them and they'll most likely put in a good word to their managers, or for next time:)
