Alethea's "Pure Splits" DVD

I have to say that the title is misleading--it should be "Pure Intensity", lol! I've never done a splits routine this tough OR this enjoyable! It builds strength in the legs, hips, glutes--the entire lower body. I would recommend stopping the video after the leg kicks and foam rollering the lower body because I think you'll get more out of it--I certainly did! I realized that if you finish the session with some upper body and ab exercises, you'd have a complete workout! I was suprised how much more range of motion I had after the ballistic moves and I got way lower in the gravity straddles than I ever have before! I was surpised how stiff my ankles were--I was going to ask her for tips about ankle flexibility at the comp, but no need! There are ankle stretches and man, are my ever inflexible! Still, I know what to do now to improve. Same quibble as with the last one--more verbal cues at certain points, but overall I highly recommend it! Kudos to Keith for outstanding production values and the freestyle at the end is (I think) some of the best work Alethea's ever done! I did notice yesterday that as I was prepping my classroom and breaking into dance (like you do) I had WAY more range of motion and stamina and fluidity! I will def. be using this on a regular basis!!!
