I'm seriously obsessed! Im spending far too much money on hot pants, lights for my pole room etc- it's a worry! I'm actually starting to get worried! I'm not in debt or anything and all my bills are paid but I just keep finding things that I just 'have to have' for pole! Does anyone else feel like this?

I go through spurts. I am always on the lookout for cute tanks and booty shorts and am currently talking to an ebay seller about 2 pairs of foot undeez that I really want. This past week I think I bought 3 pairs of shorts and 2 tanks, but they were all $5 and under.
for me its shoes and corsets....
I felt really bad about buying all my shoes when I first bought them, but I love them. Recently I bought all my pole gear and felt really bad buying them even thoguh I knew I was buying them as business expenses. I tend to get overly stressed over stuff though.
I will warn that if you are buying pole stuff as "business" expense to talk to a financial person. There was a lady here recently that had years of writing off business suits and such and ended up having to pay back taxes for several years (she even had separate closets for those clothes that she used for business purposes). You can only take a deduction for work-related clothing if your work requires something that would not be suitable for "ordinary wear." Unfortunately booty shorts, tank tops, sports bras, etc are seen as items that can be used for ordinary wear and are not allowable as a deduction.
I would think that the poles and the camera and all the stuff related to building my business would be business expenses though, right?

I was about to chime in but realise it might be quite different over in the states to the UK! However, if it is similar, then you're fine with the poles and cameras. Clothing would be ok if you had it labelled with your business logo, for instance (e.g. like the staff polo shirts people at a fast food joint might get, with the company name on). As Chem rightly pointed out, business suits are not eligible, although you may find shoes are a possible yes. Training, however, is definitely not eligible. Refresher courses of First Aid or whatever yes, but so called "upskilling" is considered to be in your own personal interests rather than necessary for the maintenance of a business. Hmmmm, you've given me ideas now. Might be I start a web shop some time later this year, depending on how some other stuff I've "invested" in (hah, that makes it sound so much more organised and impressive than it is, lol) goes... Could be a better camera and writing my pole off are potential options for me too... :D

hey Alesha 😀 it doesn't sound like a problem to me, since you don't have any debt, and you are paying your bills. it's great that you want to treat yourself to some nice things. maybe you could put yourself on a "pole budget" with a limit for each month, or limit the number of things you buy each month - whatever works so that you don't have the feeling of being out of control. I have definitely felt guilty at times for buying things that I don't need (like two pairs of shiny boots that I have never worn), but I think we deserve it - after all, pole is hard work, so anything that makes it more fun is well worth it! <3
