I was about to chime in but realise it might be quite different over in the states to the UK! However, if it is similar, then you're fine with the poles and cameras. Clothing would be ok if you had it labelled with your business logo, for instance (e.g. like the staff polo shirts people at a fast food joint might get, with the company name on). As Chem rightly pointed out, business suits are not eligible, although you may find shoes are a possible yes.
Training, however, is definitely not eligible. Refresher courses of First Aid or whatever yes, but so called "upskilling" is considered to be in your own personal interests rather than necessary for the maintenance of a business.
Hmmmm, you've given me ideas now. Might be I start a web shop some time later this year, depending on how some other stuff I've "invested" in (hah, that makes it sound so much more organised and impressive than it is, lol) goes... Could be a better camera and writing my pole off are potential options for me too... :D
