OMG that was an amazing story!!!! I instinctively cuddled all my babies to my chest....I hated when the hospital (with the first 2) made me give them up, to do all the new born tests 😢 I loooved my home births because they didn't rush my babies away...they can do many of the new born tests as you cuddle! That is such a great story. 🌸

That is such a great story. 🌸 I had an emergency C section with my daughter and I didn't get to hold her until an HOUR after she was born, It makes me so upset to even think about it. They showed her to me really quick and took her away. I agree home births would be great for those first bonding moments 🙂

Aaaaw that was a beautiful story!! 🥂 Thank you for sharing it! When my son was born I insisted that they lay him on my chest and it was such a beautiful feeling. Now he's 5 and people comment on what a cuddly child he is. He really loves his cuddles. Some boys his age wont cuddle anyone especially women and girls but James loves cuddles! 😀
This story brought tears to my eyes.Thank you for posting this. My oldest son was born prematurely at 32 weeks and they immediately whisked him away from me. I didn't even get to see him until he was almost 8 hours old. I was not allowed to hold him until he was 4 days old. They let the both of us do the Kangaroo after the 4 days but those previous 4 days were hell on earth for me. All I could do was touch him while he lay in his incubator. My youngest son was born on time but couldn't keep his temperature up to be bathed so they laid him until a heat lamp for a few hours and watched him. I was not allowed to hold him during this time and now seeing this I wonder, what was the harm in letting me holding my children after birth? Why couldn't my body warm my child to be stable enough to be bathed?

This was a beautiful story! When I was pregnant, in My lamaze class they talked a lot about things similar to KMC, and the benefits of skin to skin contact as soon as the baby is born. With all the knowledge about it's benefits, I don't see why some doctors could act so cold about these situations.
I have a friend who went through a similar situation. Her daughter was also born at 24w and was released to her mom at 4mos. Baby was put on a feeding tubes, ventilator etc. Ive seen photos and to go through all of that just breaks my heart and to hear heartwarming stories like that makes me feel very lucky. I watched the Duggar special delivery and I cried my eyes out. The worst part of it I decided to watch this on my sons 1st birthday. I had to have 2 csections. 1st was a failure to progress ( 🙄 I think if they took me off pitocin then I could of done it), 2nd was b/c I had a very big baby on my hands. My son came out weighing over 11lbs, no wonder we named him after a football player. My son is the cuddly one, he loves saying my name just to see if I respond. He always loved sleeping on someone. The things we do to make sure our children are loved.
This was beautiful! When I was pregnant, a good friend of a friend was pregnant, too. She developed pre-eclampsia - progressing to full blown eclampsia. They almost lost both mom and baby, but both ended up ok. We visited them in the hospital. Her little girl was so tiny, and it was terrifying for me with my little one in my tummy. I thankfully had a full term (4 days past), natural birth. They tried to push me into pitocin when my labor stalled, but we refused. The thing that saved us -- PELVIC TILTS! My contractions immediately became productive, and I went from a 3 to a 7 in an hour. They let me hold my lovely girl on my tummy as soon as she came out, and I breastfed her immediately. It was great. They took her away for tests after a while, but that gave me time to devour the cold, tasteless, WONDERFUL hospital cheeseburger! Mindy
