A few questions for male pole dancers

(Sorry if there have been similar posts about this but I couldn't find one.) I'm trying to teach my boyfriend a few things on the pole and he's usually pretty enthusiastic about it but thinks certain things are impossible or not worth learning because he's a guy - I'm trying to convince him otherwise. Guys, how do you do it? Is it painful/super difficult to climb if you don't shave your legs? Is it possible to keep certain parts of your anatomy from getting in the way without wearing a dancer's belt, or is this pretty much a must? Do you find certain aspects of pole to be easier/more difficult for you? What advice would you give to a fellow guy starting out? Anything else you'd like to share? Thanks! :)
