7 year old pole dances in heels and makeup!

Just seen this story on the PDC website. A newspaper (The Sun uk) got wind of this story and it pretty much ran riot with it. Basically a mother ( also known as the human barbie ....says it all really) has been encouraging her 7 year old daughter to wear stripper heels and makeup when she poles in the house. This is a woman who also encouraged her 15 year old to have botox! 😮 personally i think this is shocking and will have a detremental effect on the world of pole as a fitness discipline. I have no problem with kids poling. It can be great for their flexiblity and strength and im sure some of you have a pole at home that you let the kids play on. But when you start encourging your impressonable 7 year old to dress like a mini adult and dance in a more seductive form of pole dance then thats when it starts getting worrying. To be honest this woman sounds like a total idiot to begin with. It hard enough trying to get pole fitness recognised as something that is non sleazy without things like this hitting the media! Now i have nothing against dancers or the more sexier side of pole dancing, after all lets not forget were its origns lie. I myself used to to a dancer in a few lapdance clubs, but i certainly wouldnt encourage my 7 year old to act like a little stripper. What do you all think about this?

As a mother of a 7 year old daughter myself..The mother needs to get her morals in check. My daughter has NO CLUE that you can dance with make up/heels ect or any dancing even at that..She just thinks of the pole as something to help her with flexibility for tumbling as well as cool spins and she tries to do inverts but i've pretty much stopped her at this point for her saftey..I dont even know what else to say about this woman <sigh>

FIRST: She does not have her wear high heels and makeup while on the pole. She plays dress up and her mom allows it. Her mom does allow her to play on the pole. So do many of us. This is the story that is getting blown out of proportion by the media. Quite honestly I think she has a great view of raising her daughters (with the exception of the botox thingy....)

Yes i hear what your saying many litle girls play dress up and theres nothing wrong with it. 😀 What im saying is this woman has been in a few magazines in the uk previously a few years ago boasting that she encourages her (then 10 year old daughter) to plaster on the make up she also encourages her to get sunbeds every week,pays for her to have hair,eyelash and nail extensions, and wear clothing that was on the skimpy side plus was saving up for her daughter to have a boob job!! her dream job for her daughter was to be a glamour model .It caused a back lash from the public then i remember. Now it seems shes starting it with the 7 year old....tad worrying 😲

While I doubt it's healthy for the kids to be raised by the Human Barbie .... it really doesn't say she's teaching the kid booty bouncing 101. It says, "She likes to dress up" "She wants to be a pop star" "I'm teaching her to dance on a pole" ....Doesn't really sound that bad to me. I'm more disturbed by the thought of what these kid's body images are going to be like. Not to mention the 15 year old DID have a few wrinkles. What kind of environment gives a kid wrinkles? and what the hell is wrong with the UK that kids get botox?!?!?! I read the botox article, and it made it seem like some creepy drug people were getting in dark alleys. Is this true?

Just another reason I don't read gossip magazines or listen to the media....makes my head hurt. You never REALLY know the Truth, just the perception THEY the media, want you to see. 😕

I don't think anything could be detrimental to world of pole fitness as a legitimate sport. (Short of every pole studio in the world being outed as a secret society for trainining strippers or putting women into sex slavery of something.) Basically, all negative press is neutral press. People ALREADY think that way. So nothing is changed. Positive press can slowly, bit by bit, help us change ideas. As can each and every one of us changing the minds of our friends and families, co-workers etc. But I honestly cannot see this story causing any damage to the movement of getting pole fitness credibility. It's possible that it will cause an outcry against under 18s learning pole, but that's about the extent that the damage could be IMO. And it would be short lived. I think anyone with half a brain would realise this was a parenting issue anyway.

Guys, The Sun isn't a real newspaper! It's mostly bought for having the "page three girls" (on, page 3, as the name implies) who are toppless girls in their late teens or early twenties. The "paper" is racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic and anti single moms, and like their peers in the trash paper world, they're not above printing stuff that MADE UP: e.g. http://bit.ly/cbsHp9 This was run in the slightly more credible, but only due to lack of nudity, Daily Mail. I'm sure this peice is fiction written to whip up anti-pole, anti single mom feelings. Oh, another fave from the mail is when they wrote aboout visiting an area in england that had the highest precentage of single moms and the female reporter wrote: i was expecting burnt out shells of cars in the streets. Yes, like that's what single moms do for chill out at the end of the day. xxx

Really disturbing news... (Ive read them not only at the SUN) what's up with this mother? I mean, theres nothing wrong with her girl practicing the pole as from my point of view its a sport, but when i read that or is pole or is sitting her in front of a tv ???? You can't do anything more to spend quality time with your children but sent them to watch tv? On heels and makeup, there are heels and heels i guess (while she not uses platforms and not wearing heels on a daily basis) ... I think there are times for everything and if she's already wearing makeup, i now know why the older daughter at her youth is already having a botox.... Shame on that woman really for raising in that way two marvelous children, they are missing great parts in life !

You know, some people go skinny dipping in pools and swimsuits are too similar to lingerie, they should remove the pools too! And while they're at it, why not ban sucking on popsicles and eating banana as well, it's too suggestive.

Do you remember about a year ago - there was that school that forbade children from doing handstands or cartwheels in the playground because it was too dangerous? Geeeeeez. How the frick will they ever get strong and resilient? 🙄 We're just making a generation of clueless, sheltered, defenseless people who can't have their own opinions! I hate this sooo much! And the weird thing is - everyone I talk to, in real life or online thinks it's dumb too. So who on earth are these "concerned parents and teachers" who are putting the restrictions in the first place?

But they're also not at my uni, and they're not at my workplace, and they're not on the comments section of any news sites, and they're not at my local cafe, and they're not at any music festivals, and they're not at my sister's school parent teacher nights, and they're not friends with any of my friends or relatives or family. The point I'm making is everyone I've ever met hates these laws as much as me, and the next person. So who are the people coming up with them? 😂 I swear it's like this tiny 0.0001% minority that complains really loudly and the government has no backbone and so they pander to their stupid ideas. *sigh*

Pacify the extremists and further control the average citizen. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. All the extremists have to say is " THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!" . I'm honestly really sick of hearing that phrase. Tighter internet laws that allow your browsing habits to be shared? Think of the children! Putting people who are caught urinating in a bush on the sex offender's list? Think of the children! Charging teenage girls who are still children themselves for sending semi nude pics of themselves through sexting, and slut shaming them (until one have reportedly committed suicide)? WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!!! A few prudes with their panties in a bunch is ruining it for the rest of society and the government is goign along because it's not only easier but give them more control in the long run. Sorry about the rant, it's one of my pet peeves.
