45's

Since it is Floorwork February, I'm wondering if someone can help me with 45's. Perhaps they have another name but that's all I know them as. This move has always mystified me because I don't understand how the knee moves. You lie on one side with the bottom leg bent and top leg straight. Then you somehow roll your knee and your body moves to the other side. You go back and forth. Can anyone explain this to me? Give me a video? I have Alethea Austin's floorwork DVD and I've watched it about a hundred times and I'm still not able to get it.

I agree D Luxx, sounds interesting. And if it's from an Alethea DVD I know it looks good too...at least if you can get it right. lol I hope someone can fill us all in.

@acoretacri No, it's not at all like that. You start leaning back on both elbows with one leg straight and the other bent (sort of a reclining passe position). Then you sweep the straight leg across like you're going to do a floor fan kick, add a clockwork leg partway through, and end in a reclining straddle. Or something like that. I'm at work ATM and going from memory. =)

At about 2:26? https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/5113f951-1ac0-40e7-b5fa-41fc0ac37250 I'm working on that right now and I find it quite hard to figure out what she's doing, but I think I'm now at the point where I start understanding it. It helped me doing it with straight legs first and then only the knee thing before putting both moves together.

I just figured this one out the other day ( I also couldn't figure out the knee movement) -- here's how I do it step by step: - start by reclining on your forearms with the legs straight in front of you. Bring the right leg over the left -- your weight should shift onto the left hip so your butt is off the floor. You can keep to bottom leg straight or bend it, up to you. - start to lift the right leg like going to draw a half circle in the air... once your leg is about 1/3 of the way through the air, rotate your knee outward (opposite of pinwheels, so you will be rotating clockwise on the right leg). - Your leg should be about vertical by the time you finish the little circle, and at that point start to shift your weight over to the other hip. you'll land in the starting position on the opposite side. I had been trying this one forever and just got the hang of it, it's unbelievably simple but really hard to learn just by watching videos LOL. Hope that helped at all :)
