Hey guys, I'm considering buying a 45mm xpole. I love my 50mm but I have small hands so just wondering if a 45mm would make learning more difficult tricks a bit easier since id have a better grip? Any pros and cons of a 45mm? thanks :)

I have a 45mm chrome xpert xpole and I love it. I can actually grab it with my whole hand so when I'm doing an extended butterfly or the iguana mount or any moves where you have to rely solely on your hands it is easier. I've tried a couple of moves on a 50mm but I can't hold to it firmly. I probably couldn't do an iguana mount on a 50mm even if my life depended on it. Maybe it's because I'm not used to it. The poles at the studio where I go are also 45mm. For the moves where you grip with your legs I've heard that the 50 mm is actually easier, i didn't notice much of a difference in the legs, but for my hands 5mm it's a huge difference. I would definitely go for the 45mm.
Thanks! I was considering a chrome pole too as my hands get really hot and sweat a bit. Rest of my body is dry though, I have no idea why my hands get so overheated! Can you do proper spins and drop down the pole with a chrome or is it a bit grabby? I live in a cold country, I keep seeing people writing about country humidities being a factor with different pole finishes.
I have a 45 as well and learned on a 50. My hands are even kinda big and the 45 still made a big difference. I can't even imagine trying to do moves like Allegra on 50 mm. Thigh holds have always been a struggle for me and continue to be on a 45, but really the difference didn't feel very noticeable in that department
I've never tried to drop (I'm too scared lol) but I can spin just fine, as long as the pole is clean I can spin without too much trouble. I've only had issues when I've got some grip aid residue in my hands and the pole is really hot, but as soon as I clean the pole and my hands I have no problems. Actually, more often than not, I have the opposite problem and slide too fast to the ground. I don't think chrome would be too grippy but if I were you I would probably try to play with a chrome pole before buying one just in case.
We have 50 in class and I have a 45 at home. Would choose 45 any time over 50!!!
I already have a 50mm pole at home but will definitely buy a 45mm now, thanks guys! Still deciding on which finish, I'll try find a studio with brass but lessons are so expensive! Luca valentine did you try using unlit candle wax on the pole? I've changed my profile name, we were messaging on my pole for hot hands thread. At least I think it was you lol, sorry if if wasn't!
