40mm or Fly Gym

Okay, so my husband wanted to get me an Ipad Mini for Christmas. He waited too late to look into it and it wasn't available in time. He gave me the money for one, our son surprised us and gave us each a little chunk of $$. I never really looked into an Ipad for myself and am still deciding to get one or not. However, with the $$ from hubby and son, I can get a 40mm pole! I have not tried one yet and wish I could. Also, I would like it in titan gold, but not available. Will it be available in titan gold eventually. I have a 45mm chrome and titan gold. I didn't like the chrome at first, so bought tita gold. I did use the chrome quite a bit and just put up the titan gold due to cold weather making chrome too slippery. I figure if I get a 40mm, I'd like to go straight to titan gold. Anyone, other than veena used a 40mm? I saw veena's post on a video about a 40mm, and curious about others input. BUT, I also see how many are liking their Fly Gym and wondering about that????

Omni Gym mentioned a spinning/static pole attachment for the rock it stand. I'm SOOOOO dying to find out what they're coming out with. It was on their Facebook, can't remember when. I do still like the wider leg slings the fly gym has, but the padding is sooo nice for stretching. The stand hasn't come yet, so I've been using the hammock feet to do scorpion stretches with my pole. I can not wait to get suspended lol. I am also really looking forward to the bounce of the trapeze system. I imagine it to be slight, but still a little trampoliney. I used to love those door frame bouncers for babies when I was a young tot lol.

I was picturing a pole that would hang from the swivel, and you could just extend it to make it contact the ground, with the weight of the stand and the dancer keeping it static?? Or maybe a bracket or something that attaches to the frame that you can sink the pole into. Or maybe its something entirely different than what I am envisioning. The picture on the post was just a girl on a pole next to an omni gym so I don't think that was indicative of the final product. I really really wanna knooooow lol

I contacted them about the type of pole they would use and they said a 45mm chrome

Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not sure that would work. It seems like the stand would be in the way.

Hrm, the stand is 8 ft in diameter...at the bottom.... But the two videos with the girls using the stand AS the pole, they seem to have plenty of room, even when inverting on the trapeze bar. But for an extended leg fireman, yeah, I can see some problems there at the basic level. For just "pole strength" moves, like rows, squats, pole ups, etc, it would work, but might not have the versatility. Maybe theres an attachment that goes off the top to outside the frame.... I know it would be COMPLETELY design flawed and unstable, but wouldn't it be cool to have a pole coming right out the top? Climb up, spin down, and do a flip off the trapeze bar. Oh I can't wait till my stand comes I want to play with it sooooo bad. I ordered mine in black, it looks like the black still isn't back in stock, but the silver and gold are. If it wouldn't cause more trouble than it would for me just to be patient, I would ask them to switch it to a silver stand so I can have it now lol

It would also be cool to have it hang from the swivel really short so you could swing pole >:-) But they also say to anchor the stand if you're putting a lot of lateral force into your swinging... I'm also looking WAY forward to when they release the tent cover for it. Swingy yoga in the rain without the wetness. MMMmmmm. I guess it would be a sunshade too. Unless they made it clear like an umbrella more than a tent. That would turn into a sauna though.

I have the black stand and even when I use the yoga swing, sometimes I kick the stand. Plus, the higher up, the smaller it is. This could just be me, I'm tall. ;))

I'm at an average 5'5" so I think I will fit comfortably with the stand. I know that you're supposed to be able to reach the poles, hook foot on ladder, stretch assists, etc, so It doesn't suprise me that you may touch them.

As for the distance to hang the Fly Gym from a pole, I used " fly gym installation eye bolts" as the search terms and first listing that came up was a part of Fly Gyms equipment page that I wasn't finding before. I'm not techno savvy:-/ Wonderfully detailed installation instructions, but basically it should hang 5-6' from the pole with the pole centered with the middle of the hammock swing.

For those that own the fly gym and permanently installed it, where did you find the correct size eye bolts? My husband and I went to every hardware store and did online searches, and couldn't find anything following the flygym's exact specs. Thanks!! :)

I've been on the same search. Closest I've found is 1/2 x 3 1/4". They're supposed to bear a 2200lb working load & I'm little, but I'd prefer to follow the precise guidelines. I'm getting impatient though. I wanna play!

My husband ordered one to rig my lyra from uscargocontrol.com. The one he ordered was pretty long and was rated for 4,700 lbs. A yogo swing may not need such a large working load limit. He says the site has virtually anything you need for rigging.
