Don’t know if this would help or not, but X-Poles have instructions in their instruction manual about how to make a wooden plate to fit inside the rubber ring on top of the dome. Meant to help with stability, but I’m not sure if it would help with your ceilings other than to spread the pressure out just a bit better… Also not sure if it would be a good idea with the popcorn ceilings.
